• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 RS Accessories

First time poster. Long time lurker.

After working toward paying off my car, taking care of my disabled father, and sundry other "life events" that kept buying a new Spyder on pause for a couple of years, I finally took the plunge, last April, and picked up a brand new, 2015 RS. I specifically wanted the sport model to knock around town on and have a little fun. I quickly learned that I needed to add a few things as it didn't take long to start going on longer and longer trips.

I began in November, by replacing the stock Sport windshield with the 23" Ultra Touring Windshield, to take a bit of the cold winter air off of myself. The original goal was to change it back out next summer with the Sport, but the looks and the usefulness have grown on me, so I'll probably leave it.

Then I added a frunk liner and a 12v Accessory Outlet.

This past weekend I replaced the stock seat with an OEM Comfort Seat. Seriously? I should have done this before even leaving the dealership back in April. Makes a WORLD of difference.

OEM Console Protectors

UPDATE 1/29/2016:

Installed the new style OEM Passenger Backrest today, along with the OEM Top Box made by Givi. SUPER impressed. Only ran into one snag installing the base for the backrest. It's powder coating makes it the same size as the inside diameter of the frame, so it did NOT want to go into place. I finally had to get it lined up, step back, and kick it into place like you would kick down a door. Other than that, install of both the backrest and top box took less than an hour. LaMonster's Highway Pegs are in, but will have to wait to be installed (I ran out of daylight), and Saddlebags, Saddlebag trim should be delivered Monday.

The benefit of being able to remove the backrest, luggage, and racks greatly appeals to me as I prefer the sleeker lines of the Spyder as it sits, but I like the added benefit of having the luggage, when needed, for longer trips.

LOTS of updates in the posts below. Thanks.

The back rest was ne of the first things I put on my 2010 RS for my wife. Hope your experience is better than mine was. I will just say it was a major pain in the back side......and then some

Welcome welcome....

Good choice, love the RS....you have done a lot of work and it is looking great...congrats...!! :2thumbs:

For the back rest you might consider a smooth spyder back rest rather than an OEM. Just a thought. ;)

Only reason I'm getting the backrest is to mount the Can Am Top Box. It won't work with the Smooth Spyder backrest. When the Top Box isn't in use, for long trips, both the box and the backrest will be removed.

Also... It arrived today!

99.9999% Done... SO CLOSE to being complete. Only thing left is adding the highway pegs, which I'll do this week.

With the help of some Rhino Ramps, my fat butt was able to get soaking wet and dirty while putting on the Lamonster Garage highway pegs. She's 99.9999% done. Only thing left is changing out the lights with LED bulbs and deciding whether or not I want to add fog lights.

Working with what we have.

Inspirational stuff Techno...I will no longer complain about the lack of work space in the back shed
when working on my 2014 rss.

I have now moved into the world of LED lighting, with LED fender tip lights and LED daytime running lights. WORLD of difference already, but I'm not yet done.

Thanks!

That pic was taken at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, GA. I'm just down the road from the Space & Rocket Center, in Huntsville... literally just 4 miles away... and keep promising myself I'll get over there and take a pic with the Spyder and some of their stuffs in the background... but my lazy bone kicks in and I never do, lol.

I just did Spyders on the Bayou, so won't be able to make Spyderfest this year, though the plan is to be there in 2017. We ARE planning to be at Spyders in the Ozarks later this year, though.

Awesome & thanks. Hope to see you there & maybe a pic together :) The 2017 fest will be great & we also have the owners thing in Canada to look forward to, thankfully I got my passport ready & there are a number of states that way i still need to add to my collection. Will all work out soon enough.

I wasn't there but I still care!

Two color LED fender channel lights finally came in today, after being on back order. I'm VERY happy with them.
