THE MONEY THING DEPENDS ON HOW HANDY YOU ARE

I made metal brackets that fit inside the lower plastic wings ( and attach to the frame )...that stick out in front of your feet...I can now stand on them without them breaking .....( you should not try this )......I use them as foot rests / highway pegs.....Cost " zero " to me anyway...I had the metal and I have a welder ......Mike

I place my feet on the lower plastics wings to stretch out. You can't put a lot of weight on them but they do make good FREE highway pegs. Just be careful, I have been using them for that for over a year now and I have had no problems.

I'm 6'3", have a Comfort Seat with no backrest and have not put on highway pegs because I don't like to splay out my legs as much as they would have me do. I just find it uncomfortable. On highway riding I just move my feet as far forward as possible on the floorboards and am very comfortable. I do prefer to hug the tank with my knees even on highways. YMMV.

I also have the RIVCO highway pegs. It took me a little while to get used to them, but now I love them. Great for highway travel.

Check out this fine Rivco product review by robmorg. I also have the Rivco set up and am pleased, although if you are used to a two-wheeled cruiser highway peg set up there will be some adjustment due to the position that you will be in because of the RT's body work.

Those look amazingly similar to the ones that I bought from LaMonster. Not sure who copied who's design....

The only thing I don't like about mine is that the arms don't stay put, no matter how much I tighten the bolts. I have to keep re-adjusting them. I'm thinking I might take them apart and add lock washers.

Pam

No problem with mine staying tight. Your lock washer idea may take care of your issue.

Good evening,

I am presently debating between highway pegs or floorboards.

Do you happen to have pictures of the brackets you made.

Thanks

Hello There! If your having a problem keeping bolts tightened then I recommend a lock washer. I installed The Rivco floorboard mounts a couple weeks ago and there was a external star washer(Lock washer) included in hardware package. My suggestion is to locate a lock washer called "Nord-Lock" washer. They are awesome. I work at a Industrial supply house and have found these lock washers to be outstanding. Unique locking system, prevents bolts from loosening. Hope this helps:spyder:

I have LaMonster's NBV brackets and web pegs. I haven't had any issues with them not staying tight.

Here are my pegs

I made these myself and love them. I can stretch out all the way. I have 12,000 miles since installed with no issues at all.
