2014 RTL 3rd brake light question

I would like to add the Custom Dynamics all in one running,brake,turn signal 3rd light to the trunk of my 2014 RTL and I already have the front fender turn signal LEDS installed. Is anyone else running this combination of extra led turn signals? I just want to be sure this combination will work for the electrical system on the bike without creating issues. Thanks

The 3rd brake light is LED, so the current draw is very low. It should not cause any problems.

i am sure you will be fine. i have 3 led sets on the back of my 14 with no problem

It's a great addition.

Although, I find just using it as a running/brake light works very well. As a turn signal, it gets pretty busy.

Thanks for all the great reply's and keep them coming. I am thinking busy is good. The more you have flashing the better chance of getting their attention.

It may cause your turn signals to flash faster than normal. Friend has it on his 2014, turn signals flash fast.

Yes it will but on the 2014 you can fix that problem by holding the emergency flasher button for 30 seconds while standing on one leg. It works, trust me.

Here is how to reset your flashers/turn signals

1 - Turn key on

2 - Press and hold hazard button for 30 seconds

3 - Your cluster will flash one time near the end of 30 seconds.

4 - Your flashers and turn signals will be reset and work properly :thumbup:

I just installed the Custom Dynamics running/brake light, TricLed 3rd/4th running/brake lights, and TricLed mirror-mount turn signals. I reset the signals as previously described (hold hazard button), and the combo works great. Very happy with all the new lights!

I will try that the next time I have my trailer hooked up. Noticed the fast turn signal flash. Probably use the left leg!

Checkout your locking system first

I suggest that you throughly check the locking system before you add any electricals. The DESS system shuts down starting when you lock the bars. If you get a DESS key or DESS fail warning it needs attention first.

I did not lock the bars until later and after the first time I LOCKED I had problems, and the
dealer blames the extras.

I had my mechanic install my 3rd & 4th Tricled brake lights. But they only light up when the brakes are applied. My mechanic said why is because there are only 2 wires. Did my mechanic do something wrong?

They are NOT dual intensity leds.... So only on when brake is applied..... your mechanic did not foul up. You may want to consider a brake light modulator to make them flash when brake applied.... gets the cager's attention.
