• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 RT recall

That's the key code isn't it? What switches?

Those numbers are the key code. However the security system on the Spyder is designed so that you can have a key cut to fit a byke, but if the transponder chip is not set up with the system using BUDS, the key will not start the byke. You would be able to open the luggage though.

Thank you sir, again you have made my evening. Called the dealer we purchased from at 9 this morning. Was promised a return call by the end of the day. You nailed it, they did not.

So to be clear, the affected range is from 1658 to 2252. With some sequences in this range that are not affected.

Thanks

PK

Please; Ulflyer did the heavy lifting for this information ; I just brought it over to this thread... :opps:

So with a key code to make a key, BRP diagnostics software, and about 2 minutes with the spyder , your set!....nice.

Still not that easy. If you don't have an original. programmed key to insert, BUDS cannot make another without staring from scratch with all new keys and a new DESS module. Very expensive, and the key code is of no value. Having someone's key code would only allow another person to have a key cut and gain access to the luggage (or trailer). You can get that with a crowbar if you really want to get inside. Key codes are pretty useless. Many shops cannot even cut a new one from the code...only from another key.

My husband and I were out of town this past weekend and the same thing happened to his 2014 RT SM6. After having it at the dealership today, he was told there was a recall on some of the 2014 models, but the service manager didn't go into any detail. He only said my husband's bike was one affected. He has only had this bike for a couple of weeks. Our questions is, if the dealership knew about the "recall" (their words) why was the bike sold without the necessary repair work done? We were three and one half hours from home, and it was a major inconvenience for us. But thanks to Lamont and our good friend, Brian we got the bike towed to the dealership.

The service manager stated the recall is due to faulty ignition switches.
