• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not sure what is happening. Acts like a relay trips and then resets in about 10 minutes.Every thing that is electric is dead until something cools or resets. Starter does not turn engine. Is there a relay for the starter or a master relay for all electric circuits at the battery? Maybe the starter is bad, how is it removed? Thanks for any help on repairing this. MBOZ

Welcome to posting on the Forum MBOZ, sorry that it's gotta be with a problem! Still, let' see if we can help! :helpsmilie:

The symptoms you're describing are almost invariably associated with poor battery terminal connections, dirty or loose ground connections, or an almost dead battery! This sort of thing isn't usually the Starter, but rather the load of trying to start dragging the battery voltage down so low that the battery can't run the computers, the fuel pump, and all the electrics, let alone meeting the heavy voltage drain the starter puts on it! From the 'resets in about 10 mins' thing makes me think it's most likely going to be a dead or at least very tired battery, but that may well be that due to poor terminal or ground connections meaning it's never being charged properly, so you should check all those anyway! ;)

If you can, get the battery properly load tested, altho you can do a quick & dirty check if you have & can use a multi meter. With the m-meter, check the battery voltage before you try to start it, when the battery is rested & theoretically good/at its best - if the charge is not above about 12.5 volts or so, you can try giving it a good long battery charge with a smart charger to see if it recovers; but if it's anything below 12 volts it's probably a gonna ANYWAY & likely to need replacing. And if it's ABOVE that 12.5 volts, keep the multi meter on it while you try to start it - watch to see how low it drops, anything below about 10.6 volts means its properly cactus & there's little likelihood of recovery!! :(

Good Luck!

Load test performed and battery flunks test.

Thanks, Peter, your advice on the battery load test showed showed voltage goes way low. Battery tested 13.0 volts when charged and went to 0.4 volts when load tested. So I will replace the battery. Thanks again and ride on. MBOZ
