• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RT Recall

Got a letter from BRP about the 2013 RT models recall today. Does not say anything more than we all know already. I wonder how long it will take this FIX to get to Oklahoma? I hope it's more than just more heat shielding which wil only lead to more engine rubber and electrical harnesses deteriation quicker. The heat has to go somewhere. Improved cowling ventilation that exists the rear of the Spyder, heat shielding, and a reversing radiator fan would be better IMHO. I believe that is just wishful thinking but who knows.

Me too

Got mine today too. I'm located in Texas so here's hoping they get to us early rather than later.

Recall

Got mine today also. In florida so have to stop riding soon due to the heat, hope there is a fix for this. I don't even try to ride when the temp is over 85 degrees.

Just got my letter from BRP dated Feb. 26th re: "Can-Am Spyder Roadster RT 2013 - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment; Potential Problem - "Under very hot ambient conditions and low speed riding, the temperature in the engine compartment may rise and thereby increase the risk of a skin burn or vehicle fire"

BRP wil repair free of charge - however, parts required are not currently available but will be starting in May 2015. Please understand that we will prioritize the hottest areas of the countries as parts become available.

What a hoot!!!!! BRP has known about this issue for a long time. I received no satisfaction from my dealer until I dumped my 2013 for a 2014. Subsequently I was told that some 2013's had a problem with the radiator blocking. This recall does me no good other than the satisfaction of knowing my complaints have been validated. I still feel that BRP should owe me some compensation because I would not have dumped the '13 otherwise.

I love my 2014RT Limited and have had no issues with it. That at least is something.

I got mine today also, what a bunch of crap!!!!!EVERYBODY SHOULD GET THE FIX AT THE SAME TIME!!!!I wont see anything prob till oct,or they will pull mine in july and have it till nov....

They'll fix them as quick as they can get the parts out to the dealers, and the customers can get them in.
Take a chill-pill; you're gonna hurt yourself...

It means that I'm (sort of) limiting my time and participation in here for a little while...
Folks seem to be getting tired of my chatter, so I'm trying to let others do more of the talking. nojoke

I knew the answer to the question before I asked it.. I just wanted to hear you say it... Why did you delete your bike pic???

I understand how you feel, but from a practical sense, all parts required for all bikes built will not arrive at BRP distribution on the same day. Nor will the assembly of recall parts kits be complete for all 5000 plus kits on the same day. Would you suggest the BRP refrain from shipping ANY kits until such time that they can deliver to FedEx all pallets containing all 5000plus kits for shipping to all dealers at the same time?

Once BRP determines the fix and has it approved by the DOT they will order the parts. They will assemble the parts into kits as they are available and ship them. There are just too many steps involved for them to all happen on the same day for all 5000 kits. Waiting at each step for all to complete would only delay things.

We all want our bikes fixed, yesterday dammit. I know. I get it.

Take your time do it right

!!!!EVERYBODY SHOULD GET THE FIX AT THE SAME TIME!!!

I hope what they do fixes all the problems and everybody is happy, but if not and they have to "go back to the drawing board" then I will be glad that they didn't experiment on mine. I have the heat problem and it likes to spit up out of the evap canister on hot days, but I could deal with it another season if I had to. At least there's light at the end of the tunnel. I would just as soon take it to the dealer sometime after spyderquest
