• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RT Heat Issue - Solved?

Re: PC800

Off topic post -- you're a fellow PC800 owner! Great bikes, treasured by their owners, under-appreciated by everyone else. Run forever, carry everything, ride and handle great. I apologize -- now we can get back to the subject at hand.

Their handling is to be treasured! Even at my age 10 years ago, I scorched some others with my PC. Should also add not much to do in the way of maintenance either. Excellent ride.

vertika lower vents

hi bob i also found out that i need to also cut or drill holes in the plastic behind the radiator fan to let the air go into the engine compartment. that allows the lower vents i put on to send cool air to the engine. i was wondering if i had to cut it out so i called jean at virtika and he said OH YEA I FORGOT TO TELL YOU THAT lol
Cuznjohn,
P.M. with the steps you have taken with directing air through the lower vents
thanks in advance
Joseph

heat

the lower vents come in 3 parts. the left one leaves the bottom vent open so the oil cooler can blow air past it, the right side has the the vent that covers the upper hole behind the fan and a plate that fits in the lower vent tole for the right foot heat, than the black plastic in the back of the radiator compartment needs holes cut into it or cut out completely to allow air flow into the engine compartment. it is cold out there right now so i have not cut the plate out yet.

Does anyone still have their PC? I still have my 1990. Its been modified a bit, so its not stock anymore. :-)

heat

I bet he richened the mixture. Check your gas mileage.

Re wrapping pipes, this may lead to valve failure because you are trapping heat at the head. Heat does not re-route out the exhaust, it is radiant.

you may want to check your facts on the heat wrap on the pipes !!!!

Technicians are not able to tune the Spyder mixture or timing. The mixture can only be changed by using an aftermarket fuel controller.
