• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 RT Reverse noise

My 2012 RT has starting making a "groaning" sound when in reverse. Any comments or suggestions, please.

Same with mine and I have a brand new dealer installed clutch that was installed under warranty due to stalling out issue. The sound was heard before and after clutch replacement. Guess it is a " normal" noise

If it's not the rear brake; it might be the belt. (As the teeth on it engage the cogs on the sprocket...)
Either way; there's not much that you can do about either (unless the belt alignment is off...), so turn the radio up, and ignore it.

Hate to say it here, but that's just the way some of them are. Our 2011 does it if it has been sitting awhile (a week or so). Methinks its the brakes.

My 08 did it and it was the belt. After I loosened the belt using the KrikIt II method, the noise went away.

All of the above...

Just a suggestion that I would do and that is give the rear wheel bearing a quick check. As they wear they get comfortable running in one direction..:dontknow:

Another vote for the brakes on my 2012 RT. It has been doing it on mine since i had it, when i'm backing out of the shed. Mainly after it has sat down a while. I just ignore it and go in first gear and take off. I had my rear bearings and seals replaced when i had my rear rim chromed, earlier this year and it still does it. :dontknow::dontknow:
