• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 RSS replacing thermostat

Depends....

Which one ?? the engine or the amient temperature....the ambient temp sensor is on the right side under the front panel mounted on the frunk side. That one is easy to get to and change. None of them are accurate as to outside temp and are more for knowing the air temp going to the airbox and throttle body. The water /engine temp I have not dealt with. Have seldom seen them go bad....:dontknow:

I did mine last year as it stuck open. Its pretty straight forward. Its on the right side by your right foot.
Strip the plastics and it's right there. Its a stand alone thermostat/housing so all your doing is removing hose clamps.
One tip is to leave your radiator reservoir cap tight while doing the work. You'll lose a lot less fluid that way. Replace the oetiker clamps with worm clamps, top off your fluid, and your done

thermostat failed shut - replaced

The thermostat failed on my '13 RS (while under warranty) in the closed position (resulted in overheating). Shop replaced it, but I don't know how long it took.
