• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 rts seat issue

I find that the seat has firm rider cushion where your lower back support is but there is a depression below that where no padding is in place creating a pain full ride after a while has any one made alterations to the seat pad or had the same issue

One of my first "mods" on both my 2010 and 2013 RT-S was to put a different seat on my spyder. Made a world of difference.

:agree:
There's a whole bunch of threads in here about aftermarket seats... Play around with the search function, and you won't be disappointed!

Local upholstery shops can use the seat mold to rebuilt the seat with better cushioning. Also one of the vendors here can do it as well.

The 2010 OEM seat is a torture machine IMO. My cure was to take it off and install a Corbin and driver backrest. There are many options out there, including a re-upholster job. Also recommend looking up seats and getting others opinions. Test sitting/driving is a good idea, if possible, before you buy. Otherwise, you could be making a 600+ dollar mistake.

The earliest 2010 RT's, especially the PE's had a design flaw that allowed the material at the indent to separate from the backing, eliminating the little identation that allows the seat to be comfortable. In time the material shrunk even further, making things worse. The seat was redesigned later in the model year, then again for 2011. There was a warranty bulletin describing the problem and calling for the defective seats to be replaced. If your RT is still under extended warranty replacement may still be available. I'd contact your dealer. If the Spyder is out of warranty, I'd suggest a rebuild by SpyderLovers sponsor Motorcycle Dave, an aftermarket seat, or buying a 2011 or later seat from someone who has replaced theirs with aftermarket.

Thanks for the information. I was not aware that there was an actual issue with the 2010 seat. I do have a premier edition and the seat has the PE # embroidered on it. I added the Utopia backrest before driving off the lot. When I trade off, the "brand new" (less than 500 miles) seat will go back on the 2010.

Think Comfort seat

The BRP "Comfort seat" is worth the amazing price that that goes with the amazing seat. I have sat on other seats that were too hard or too soft but until I tried the comfort seat I didn't know "just right" was. My old boney butt appreciates all the padding and my man-made knees appreciate the extra leg room. I thank the entity that we can't mention for my comfort seat.

I Can help with that

Give me a call, I can help you with that problem.... I have everything you need to do it your self
or have it done by a local upholstery shop that is into doing cars not furniture.
