• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 Photo Scavenger Hunt

Congratulations to Roadkill! :firstplace:

Also a big thanks to Irish, both for coming up with this great idea, and for putting up with a cantankerous bunch of Ryders for the past 9 months.

Thanks also to the prize sponsors; the ride was the reward, but a little bling was never taken lightly.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who submitted photos, told us about their rides, and generally made this thread a must visit over the course of the event.

If you didn't participate, you missed out on a good time, even if it was just for the items you could find locally. Give it a shot next year, you'll be glad you did!:ohyea:

Congrats to everyone on the hunt. It was fun to drive to new places to get a photo and worth the effort. I will be requesting an international contest next time, without such items as a town with a president of the USA and such like.
Otherwise, thanks to the organiser of the event, much time and effort was put into keeping track of the results and its much appreciated.
Well done to the winner, all I have to say is that you need a hell of a lot of time on your hands to get all 100 photos and I am sure there was a lot of miles put up, but no doubt a great time had.
Will look forward to the next event when I should see it in time to give it a good shot at getting all or most of the photos.

:agree:Brevet05, you said it better than I ever could.

All I have to add is... if this contest is done again, I'm going to give y'all a good run for your money.:D

:agree:

I drove 200 miles to get the windmill, spent 10 minutes in Victoria, Texas, and turned for home. While I was taking the picture, I calculated the cost of this particular ride, and suddenly realized that I'd seen things that I never imagined existed in Texas (and later elsewhere). That was the day I got rid of the Fuelly button, stopped obsessing about MPG, and just rode for the fun of it. Wouldn't have missed it for the world (okay, maybe for the world, but it WAS pretty cool)!

I will probably do it again if I can get support from vendors again for prizes. Learned a lot and will clarify a number of issues.

Look for it to be posted around December of this year

Thanks! I probably won't be any competition, but would be cool to see the game played out.

:D

Congrats Winners, I had alot of FUN and will probably continue colecting my pics. Have several on camera that I haven't downloaded yet. I really enjoyed everyones stories and pics. Thanks Irish!
