• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1st Night Ride

I don't know where your studies were done but I can testify that where I live, in the mountains of WV, MOST deer strikes happen at dusk or at night. My cameras catch most deer on the move around my feeders at 11:00 pm and 4:00 am. It's rare to drive into our "haller" at night without seeing deer. Many of my relatives have had deer strikes...ALL at night...and I've have many near misses...ALL at night.

Deer strikes at night should be more common, we are not nocturnal animals. Our eyes do not work as well after the sun has gone down. Maybe you are thinking that is the reason we use headlights. Lights work great for the area they illuminate, but actually decrease your ability to see outside the illuminated area. This leads to the deer actually being able to sneak up on you at night, meaning you have less time to react when they are in your headlights. Deer can be active at night, especially if there is any moonlight to create an advantage for them. I am not saying deer do not move at night, I am just saying that they can be just as active during the day.

Just sayin'............

I run driving lights and fogs. I aim the driving lighs to the left and right off center so to see the edges of the road. Many around here don't have lines to guide you. Chances of a deer are slim to none but you may find an ilegal alien...of either kind...:roflblack::roflblack:

That's an interesting variation on the " Kott style Grill ".......Mike

Just a perforated stainless plate with anodized frame. Did this before they were available in all those designs. Like it plain racy...

We rode home from the rodeo on twisty, narrow country roads last night. The plethora of controls on the left handle bar will test you at night. Finding the dimmer switch, shifting gears without blowing the horn and the threat of deer strikes made for an interesting ride. Fun tho' :p

Just Make sure you don't hit the Rocket Launcher by mistake!:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I added Clearwater lights to add more light to the road where I needed while night driving..
I work second shift and my 45 minute ride goes through farm land and two state game lands. There are dear all over the place. I added Clearwater "Darla" lights almost two years ago. They light up a football field area and you see everything. I have only had to brake hard once since I installed those lights.

Well worth the money.

Yep I think I have the same lights and are adjustable..Hit the brights and look out..

add that and my fender lights and wow the bike pops at night and even get cars to pull over for some reason..

. This means you have just as much chance hitting deer at noon as you do at midnight. .

Just sayin'............[/QUOTE]

UH Yeah... except all of US see better at noon than midnight. Especially off the side of the road
where the deer "lurk".
Equal chance ? huh ??
