• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are they full of it, I thought it wasn't until 4K? They also said they have to check the valves at the first service! True?

Find a new dealer

First check at 3,000 miles and then every 9,000 from there and they do not have to check the valves, Dealer is poorly informed.

Put on the hip boots, get the anti BS spray and have a look at your owners manual.

First service for the 2014 RT ACE 1330 is at approximately 3000 miles. Valve adjustments are NOT required at all for the 1330 ACE engine. Second service is then 9300 miles later OR once a year, whichever comes first.

It appears you either have a shyster dealer, or one that is not knowledgeable about the product. Red flags in both situations. IMO.

yep that's what I told him, he just looked at me like I was clueless. I did say it was a 14 and they don't require that, he still gave me a look! Thanks Joe. I think he said high $300 range!

Jeez, just get out the owners manual from the frunk and open it to the maintenance section and show them. They are doing what dealers do, trying to get further into your pocket by telling less than truthful tales.

my dealer suggested 600 miles but i didn't do it, however i did do a oil change at 1000 miles, they ( ron and his son ) found some metal filings in the filter housing but not in the oil itself or on the magnet bolt

Who....

is always the question. You may have some that work at a dealership who are less informed or feel all bikes are alike. I always recommend reading the owners manual ( As painful as that may be ) to be informed yourself. It is all there and the dealership may still be a good one with some staff needing some updating...

Thanks

Thanks for the heads up.
My dealer also told me he wanted the RTL back somewhere between 600 and 1000 miles. And the cost, like mentioned, was going to be in the upper $300s. Heck now I will just spend a little extra and use that money to get a BajaRon's sway bar installed.

Find a new dealer. One I had tried that on me. Didn't work then, either. Stick with the folks here to give you the straight scoop. Invaluable information.

Dealer

Sounds like my ex-dealer:hun:. It is to bad these idiots get to sell this wonderful product:banghead:. Bad dealers do more harm to the product line and sometimes it seems as though BRP doesn't care:yikes:

They care... but it seems as if they don't want to reduce their dealer network, in an attempt to weed-out some of the Bad Apples...
