• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1330 ACE SME6 Engine Oil Filter Cover Torque Spec

My operator's guide gives torque specs for the engine and transmission drain plugs but none for the oil filter cover. Is there a specific torque spec for it? I have not yet purchased a shop manual. It would seem to me that appropriate tightness would be when the large O-ring on the cover is properly seated and tightened with a short bar or ratchet on my 36 mm socket and no leaks while the engine is coming up to operating temperature. Thank you for your assistance.

Yes there is a spec. 18 ± 2 lbft. The two drains have different torques, small magnetic plug is 15 ± 1 and the long drain plug is 21 ± 1. While both plugs are removed, then pull the filter cap and you will get more waste oil from the engine / gearbox.

Thanks, PK. Don't know why BRP couldn't list all three.

Correct. The 2014 Owner's Manual doesn't show any specs for the filter. The 2015 manual shows 18 lbf-ft +/- 2 on page 126. The 2015 manual also shows the revised oil quantities. Download a copy from the BRP site. I check both before doing any work to see if there were any changes. Plus the shop manual.
