There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 12,000 plus miles and need ti replace my rear tire AGAIN

Kumho Tire

I just ordered a Kumho rear tire last week from discounttiredirect.com for $81 with free shipping. It was in stock.

Thanks Bob for your help and everyone else. This is why I love this site.

JKMSpyder, you must had brought the last tire from discontinuetiredirect, that is where my order is backed order.

Re: WELL.WELL.WELL

Thats a real rip off! My dealer charges an hour labor and it actually takes them about half an hour. :p
.......That's probably because the Stealer is charging you " SHOP HOURS " ( what the book says to charge ) which are different from actual time on your watch :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:..Mikeguyver

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAT

While I'm not yet a Spyder owner I can relate some knowledge pertaining to my last rear tire change on my Victory Cross Country. I went from a 185/60 tire to a 180/65 and gained 9mm in diameter. Not a big gain but the taller sidewall does indeed ride smoother. The narrower tread width is negligible and the circumference is only about 2.5 percent bigger. I'm not sure how many percent a Spyder nanny can tolerate but a couple percent isn't very much.
......Apples to Oranges to Peaches to Bacon.........................................:gaah:Did someone say " BACON ":thumbup::thumbup: :yes::yes: :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.....Mikeguyver

Yes, thats what it is, and with the good quality work I get from my dealer I'm more than satisified. I almost always give the Tech a gratuity for his service, and sometimes the Svc Mngr too, depending on the service. I'm not suggesting you should tip to get service, but a tip when you get outstanding service is much appreciated. The Techs are not making big bucks.:D

Kumho Ecsta AST available at Discount Tire - got mine in a week.

I am very happy with Discount Tire as I ordered it last Monday and it's in already -- just a week to get it! :D:D:D:D:D

Now, on to the dealer to see how much they nail me for the tire change! Wow, never thought I would need to change a new tire at 6000 miles due to wear!? :banghead::banghead::banghead: I even deflated the rear from the 28 PSI spec to 25 PSI hoping to get more wear out at the edges....no luck!

Even with the frustration of a tire wearing out in 6000 miles on a $30K machine....I still think the 2014 RT Limited is an AWESOME machine!

Picked up my Kumho Ecsta AST today...here's a pic -- will have it on the bike within the next 30 days when dealer can get me in
and works with my rydin' schedule!

Waiting to see if my dealer can order the Kumho tire. If I bring the tire in it's $187 for the labor. May just have hubby to do the tire change. if we decide to DIY anything we need to know about changing the tire?
$187 for the labor? WOW!!:yikes: I took my RT along with the Kumho to the dealer and went back an hour later and was only charged $78. I didn't have to touch anything except my wallet.:roflblack:

Got my Kumho Ecsta AST installed and the 9300 miles maintenance done. Then went riding and visiting granddaughters .

This is what I looked like going to the dealer Tuesday.

Many of the dealers do not have the equipment to change tires so they take them to a tire shop and you pay labor $$ for them to do that.

LOL - I was thinking on doing the same thing!

Did your new tire ride well with you? I'm planning on doing the same thing to get me, the Spyder, and new tire to the dealer! :D

Let me know how it went!!

I have mine shipped directly to the dealer. Make sure they will put aftermarket tires on for you, and let them know you are having it shipped direct to them. :D

5000 miles on the OEM and it is junk. I am not a "burnout monster" so that number is unexceptable. Getting my Kumho put on right now. The center of the OEM is almost completely smooth and there goes the theory that the flatter tire would wear better. These soft OEM's mushroom out in the middle as they spin so the center takes all the ride. The edges look almost new, I am talking several inches from the edge too. OEM's need more strengh to hold its shape... useless tire...
