• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Louis Powersports

They are for real, pass the place on I30 many times, they had KLR650's brand new for $4995 last year-lowest price I have ever seen, I guess they just make less profit. You can HOT weather test a Spyder, its about 105 degrees here in Texas everyday, good luck

    Front sprocket

My Mels 30 tooth is holding up great, too bad the Spyder doesn't have the proper shaft drive so there would be no need for this conversation. Glad to see someone with the talent to make a nice 30T

    30t. Sprocket

30 Tooth Sprocket Install that sprocket, mine is working great and the Spyder is so much nicer to ride. I do check the bolt for tightness fairly often but would do that with the stock sprocket also. Can Am could easily offer this as an accessory for a fair price but I guess there isn't anyone...

Do members get a Discount on spyderpops products ?

Just got two items this past week, same price as listed, got them installed, my right foot does not feel the temp nearly as much, you will like this. Installed the two foam pieces around the radiator also- you could make this part yourself for about 10 cents- Spyder still runs 4-5 bars on...

    Dirt Roads

It's pretty obvious after about 100 ft, this thing is out of its element, mine sounded like the plastic was about to rattle/fall off and then there is the Belt to worry about. If there is a chance of any Dirt Roads, I'm taking the BMW GS, no BELT to worry about. Be careful on the Dirt Road

Anyone ever buy a wrecked Spyder and repair it?

I would avoid the wrecked Spyder, if you shop, you can find a deal on a nice used one. Now is probably not the best time to purchase with nicer weather here, winter is the time to buy. Here in Texas I paid 10,200 a year ago for an 09 with 674 miles, there are several for sale at 13-14k but they...

    Picking her up today. :-)

Sounds like you are very excited about your new machine, I think you will be very happy with the model you went with, I look at it as less complicated, less to go wrong. I am an old Motocross guy so I rarely ever use the clutch other than stops, the Spyder has a great gearbox(except the missing...

    I second that suggestion!!!

Half helmet like HJC IS-2 vs 3/4 or full face helmets

Half Helment?? Why bother, just put the ball cap on backwards. If you know anyone that has ever crashed at any speed on the street, this is a NO-Brainer, if I can't wear a Full Face, I'm not riding two or three wheels....case closed. Good Luck on that decision

    Spyder Vibration

Racing dirt bikes on long races we always fill our bars with a tube of Silicone sealer, sounds like there is more of a problem than normal vibration. Good Luck

    newbie with RPM question

RPM's The Spyder does not have the much needed 6th gear due to having a reverse so it revs way more than needed at highway speeds, I put a 30 tooth front sprocket on which made a great difference, the bike is much more relaxed and pleasant to ride. Very few people here seem to realize the...

    Belt problem

Spyder Bearings/Belt Yes Suds you are correct, it is a joke, it's too bad Can Am is the only company building these. I think everytime I ride the Spyder, how much would it take to transplant my BMW engine/drivetrain? I have never had any adjustments needed on the shaft drive, if Honda or BMW...

Has anyone used a "Fan Can" ? Thanks

    Heated Gloves vs. Handgrips

Heated Grips I installed Oxford Heated Grips, best $80 you will ever spend and the install is not bad at all. Once you put these on, you will be suprised at how often you use them, even on days when it is not really that cold. I got mine at Twisted Throttle, good luck

    RS- Upcoming Summer Heat

I am starting to think of preperations I need to make for those upcoming hot summer days here in Texas. My 2009 Spyder RS is totally stock, it was pretty clear when I got it at the end of last summer that it could use some heat related Mods that would make summer riding as comfortable as...

    RPM Revelations

RPM's Sounds like Can Am stuck a Crotch Rocket motor in the Spyder, if this engine won't run well unless it's at 50% of redline then it was certainly not a very good choice to power this type of machine.

    Highway speeds

Highway Speeds My 2009 RS seems very stable at 75-80 plus MPH as far as the handling goes, the problem is that the gearing on the Spyder is so off the mark at speed, it needs that sixth gear in the worst way. I found a 30 tooth front sprocket which helps a lot, it seems much more relaxed...

    RT Wheels on RS

A few weeks ago I posted about running into a New set of Smoke Gray RT wheels that were take offs at a Dealer here in Texas for $125 for the set, I could not resist that since my Red 09 RS does not look that great with those stock wheels and I know the smoke chrome wheels are $589 for a set...
