• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hurricane Fried the Electronics - need to release Parking Brake! Ideas?

But if the OP has insurance, it may be better to forgo getting into the used Sypder parts business and put that money down on a new/new to him Spyder! Just my 2 cents. OP, best of luck, sorry to hear about the loss of your Spyder.

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

The only thing I get from my F3S purchase are smiles. LOTS of SMILES. What a blast. No regrets.

What are the risks of changing the HCM Filter without BUDS?

What does BUDS have to do with it? I thought it was a mechanical filter of sorts. I don't think BUDS needs to know it was done or something needs to be cleared from the ECU for warranty purposes or anything crazy like that.

    What maintenance tasks are proprietary?

I believe the owner's manual lists the items needed with the maintenance intervals. I don't believe it states whether or not the dealer must do it, so a little research may be involved. My 2023 F3S, for example, it lists "Modules and application software updates"; this would likely require...

Where to get engine oil analyzed...

BlackStone here as well. Its a little pricey IMO but worth it. I get one every oil change. I believe there have been a few discussion on the forum on this.

Curious for comments on Twisted Sisters ride in Texas?

Did anyone else think of a different "Twisted Sister" and felt let down that the thread was not about them being spotted riding in Texas? :doorag:

What's best for Cleaning the Windshield? Anyone use Pledge?

I use DIY Rinseless Wash followed by RainX for plastic. I just need to mist the DIY Rinseless Wash, let it sit for a few seconds then wipe it off with a microfiber towel. I do this twice. (If really dirty, I mist it pretty heavily and let it soak for a minute then wipe.) I then mist on the...

Spyder pricing (looking for my first) - which do you think is the better deal?

The mileage on the demo model aside, this boils down to what features you like more, what features you need and what price you are will to pay. There is no other difference between the 2023 and 2024 models from my understanding.

Why is the engine braking so Weak?! Should I not use Eco mode?

I think some people are not figuring in that the OP may be stating that the engine braking is not as strong than on his BMW. You can evoke higher engine braking by shifting much sooner, but this is not the same as shifting down the same gear, from the same speed. I thought the same thing as...

After advice on Buying New or Used? Opinions? Thoughts?

Maybe, but I have been very happy with what I currently own. There are very few old cars I would really want and the money to make them how i want is not in my bank account. lol. When I win the lottery, i will certainly change my mind... lol

My Problem Free time with the RT is over!

It's a design fault if BRP uses cheap batteries that are not able to withstand the drain and charge cycles of the Spyder. It could be a bad charging system - so a design quality issue. It might be a use issue if there are too many circuits going on and drawing so much amperage that the battery...

After advice on Buying New or Used? Opinions? Thoughts?

I believe some version of this topic has come up before... :dontknow: But here is my 2 cents worth based on previous experience with cars. I never buy from a private party - you never know how they took care of it; regardless of what they say. I never buy used - UNLESS it comes with a...

Opinions wanted - How I and the Dealer handled a service issue - long read warning

Thanks! Thats what I thought, nice to have someone confirm. Yup, already thought of that. That could turn into a who can of worms. Adjusting that would be a major pain and not very practical. Changing the front pulley angle is almost futile and I'm not sure of how much "in and out" room it...

Opinions wanted - How I and the Dealer handled a service issue - long read warning

Point well taken. Thanks. If I make the adjustment (I likely will at some point) then I will be setting it at 2.5mm from the flange and accepting a variance of +/- 1mm or my OCD will bug me to no end. I also know that if I set it and it's good, then I will likely not notice it after that...

How do you mange riding a Spyder and a motorcycle?

Of course I was referring to me. lol. ;) I do appreciate the Spyder, but it serves a different purpose for me that the Z900. The f3 is far superior as a commuter, far superior in comfort and that's what I want on a leisurely ride home or with the wife. I can feel the F3's weight in every...

How many times can a Spyder be turned on & off between tries without failure?

Such a loaded question. I love it. :2thumbs: Battery and starter circuit age and wear all come to mind. My Spyder has less than 1300 miles on a new battery that's on a tender when not being driven daily. I would expect it to start (without doing calculations for battery discharge and...

Time to share... My 1 of 1 Spyder.....

Impressive. My only criticism is that some of the pictures are sideways. lol I'm breaking my neck trying to look at them as close as I can to get every ounce of detail! Please consider posting a video on YouTube to go over what was done in a nice hi-res video! So many questions are...

Opinions wanted - How I and the Dealer handled a service issue - long read warning

Thanks everyone for the input you have provided. At this point I will just monitor the belt tracking and see what happens. I'll check at every fill up for a month or two and if I don't notice anything detrimental I will let it go. This may be TMI, but to put some things into perspective, my...

Opinions wanted - How I and the Dealer handled a service issue - long read warning

Googled it. He is about 3 and a half hours from me. :sour: Assuming you are correct (and having dealt with similar alignment issues with pulleys with my job I know this to be true) then I would then expect to randomly see it further or closer to the flange. Thanks for the pointers. The...
