• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Time to share... My 1 of 1 Spyder.....

One of the best mods I have ever seen. Your Spyder would be perfect for the hundreds of miles of Fire service and Forest service roads near by..............Hummm......

BRP should have employed your services in the design of the Canyon. Yours is much better. Awesome job, and thanks for sharing.

This is a revival of a thread that has been dormant since 10/2018.

It goes back but is still relevant....re: New Canyon.

Impressive. My only criticism is that some of the pictures are sideways. lol I'm breaking my neck trying to look at them as close as I can to get every ounce of detail!

Please consider posting a video on YouTube to go over what was done in a nice hi-res video!

So many questions are flying through my head......

  • Was the Canyon an inspiration?
  • How does it ride?
  • How much do the larger tires impact acceleration on pavement?
  • How loud are the tires on pavement?
  • How well does this perform off road?
  • How is the transmission holding up?
  • What calculations were done to determine the engine and gearbox were off road compatible?
  • How much has this cost so far?
  • What other mods are planned?
  • What mods were done to the brakes?
  • What was done to the on board 'nannies' so they play nice with the new setup?
  • Have you considered a direct drive (AKA Ryker) type drive shaft?
  • Is the engine stock or will it be "ungraded"?

and many more... this is the kind of thing that I wish were a build series on YouTube to watch eagerly every few weeks!

Original post is from 2018, so this ^^ came first, and the Canyon was not the inspiration. :D

Looks to me that after being in the M/C business since the late 60's, you should present your design to BRP to make a Ryker like companion to the full size Spyder. The more I look at your creation........The better.

C'mon guys, PLEASE LOOK AT THE DATES ON THE FIRST POST BEFORE REPLYING to ANY THREAD, and check out the dates on those posts from BEFORE the archival resurrection (about post#20); AND look at the colour on the username of the member who started this thread - a Red username means that user is inactive; and if you click on their username, you'll see the OP hasn't visited the Forum since the middle of 2020!! AND if you look at the latest threads he started, you'll see that he put this Spyder up for sale back in May 2020!! :gaah:

So making any suggestions, supposedly to him, about upgrading it; him sending info on it to Can Am; or even asking him if it was inspired by the Canyon is pointless and a waste of everyone's time & effort!! :lecturef_smilie:

You should ALWAYS check the date on the first post in a thread before replying, and at least have the courtesy to everyone else to have a quick read of the thread too, checking out the dates on successive posts as you go! :banghead:
