• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After advice on Buying New or Used? Opinions? Thoughts?

At this point in my life I believe like you do. I would only spend this kind of money on a used one if I knew the previous owner and bike history well. I have been looking to get my first Spyder and have found some low mileage good deals but.....they are out of warranty. With all of the electrical parts and systems I want some type of warranty. I am gravitating to my first choice of a 2023 F3 Limited. I am waiting to see if there will be any sales incentives to get rid of old new stock this winter.

Sorry, you are missing out on some classic & good experiences (& bad) with that train of thought. Don’t have to be car show quality to appreciate a good vehicle, & DIY on them teaches much.

Maybe, but I have been very happy with what I currently own. There are very few old cars I would really want and the money to make them how i want is not in my bank account. lol.

When I win the lottery, i will certainly change my mind... lol

I believe some version of this topic has come up before... :dontknow:

But here is my 2 cents worth based on previous experience with cars.

  • I never buy from a private party - you never know how they took care of it; regardless of what they say.
  • I never buy used - UNLESS it comes with a good (OEM warranty) or cheap 3rd party warranty that is reputable AND is less than 2 years old.
  • I only buy new - for the above reasons.

Yes, I will likely lose out on some good deals, I may pay more but I have peace of mind, and at this stage of my life, that's worth a lot of money. My wrenching days are falling behind me., but I feel blessed I can now afford to pay for the vehicles I have and not have to worry about them breaking down. In my 20's and 30's - if I liked it, I would buy what was cheapest (within reason) because I know I could crawl all over it and make repairs without being in pain for days after. lol

That's too bad. I know there are a lot of good Spyders and bikes out there. Spyders are extra nice because they never get laid down on the road and no clutch to burn through.
