• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Possible future issue help

Ann's ST does this. The brake light sticks which issues an VSS error and then will send it into Limp Home mode. No she's not riding the brake. I could replicate the issue in the garage by pressing the brake pedal half way down and the pedal returned too slowly. The brake light would then...

Wow, that's what I did and it stripped the threads! Don't know what to do now.

Stripped HCM Bolt Hole Threads - Questions

2013 ST Limited I stripped the top left HCM bolt hole threads. I had the cover bolts cinched up at about the same torque as I apply to brake bleeders, then I applied 97 lbf-in (about 8 lbf-ft) to the top left colt and it stripped out the bolt hole. I asked the shop what they use and got 97...

    Plastic Radiator Canister Cracked

Was changing my coolant with the BRP green fluid and needed to get more for a good flush. Found out it's not made anymore and only orange was available at the shop. Ouch! According to the shop a bulliten says you can't mix it, but the Tech line say's you can. Huh. Flushed once with...

    OIL CHANGE QUESTION

Wish I had seen this before I stripped my HCM a filter cap screw this afternoon. I alternated the hex screws till I had them snug and then put 97 lbf-in (like oil filter) and oops, I felt it slip, half the threads came out. I caught the brake pad pin but I didn't catch this. It'll still snug...

    Yellow stuff on threads

The medium Loctite in USA is blue, Japanese medium Loctite is red, and BRP Loctite appears to be yellow. Is there a Canadian color? I find it interesting that most of the bolts I've pulled off have it, but the service manual mentions only a few bolts get it when reinstalling.

2013 ST Limited SE5 Deep Dive Part 2 (Brakes)

Summary: The brake flush was easy. I read everything in the forum posted about the task I was going to perform, there's a wealth of information. Said another way, there's some excellent advice. When I got stuck, I asked on the forum, got help and unstuck. There are things I did that...

    turn signal gremlin

You might consider contact cleaner and when dry contact lubricant from Radio Shack next time. WD-40 is a cleaner and not designed for electrical contacts. I use it to clean my shift and brake linkages at the pedal and then lube with lithium water resistant grease. Glad it worked for you though.

2011 RT Limited - Charging Battery

Hmm,, again yes and no. Let me count the connections to other systems before the battery from the diagram you provided: 1. To starter solenoid 2. LH fuse box 3. RH fuse box 4. voltage regulator/rectifier fuse 5 and regulator/rectifier When switched off I wrote that the circuit was not closed...

    Kumho Ecsta AST Tire Question

Went to the Kumho USA web site and couldn't find a bulletin confirming that this tire was discontinued. They did have other models they discontinued, but not the Kumho Ecsta AST. In fact they were advertising it's availability under the tire sizes chart for the Kumho Ecsta AST 225/50 R15...

2011 RT Limited - Charging Battery

A yes and no answer here. According to the electrical diagram in the service manual, charging through the booster post touches systems that are not closed off by the key switch in the off position. Because most circuits aren't complete when off they are protected. On the 2013 ST the accessory...

    2013 Brake Pad Pin Torque?

Thanks so much! Kind of what I thought but I wasn't sure; it's why I asked. The manual was to vague or flat out wrong here. I'll do as you suggest. I did torque the retention bolts to 77 lbf-ft.

2011 RT Limited - Charging Battery

Since Ann had a regulator failure I wanted to avoid using any part of the electrical system to run a maintenance charge. So I ran a fused (2.5 amp) pig tail with ring terminals strait to the battery. The shop uses pig tails with clips. I'm not saying you're wrong using the lighter plug, I'm...

    dogs left in cars

Not just Cars No excuses for leaving pets and children in hot cars. Here in central Texas where temps are 100+ just walking the dog in the afternoon sun can over heat them. They don't sweat and can't cool themselves panting under a hot sun. Would hate to see a law on walking dogs under a hot...

    Hard Starting

Gas or Battery Could be gas. But,,,,,,,I have a horror story concerning the battery. Ann's 2013 ST limited started experiencing long starts similar to your description. Days later down the road in the middle of nowhere Nevada the battery light came on then the regulator and stator...

    Hard Starting

My guess,,, Battery If you don't keep it on a battery maintainer, it's probably the battery. Your description fits what happened to Ann (wife). Put a multimeter directly on the terminals to test the volts. A new battery should read 13.2 volts and as they age they lose volts. Anything less...
