• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

have a 2008 GS SE5...turn signals work 1/2 time.
all bulbs and fuse are fine. tried replacing the relay up front..no change. still frustrated as the won't stay working and they won't stay broken. hate to take to dealer and have it sit in his lot for a month until he can get to it and then sit for 2 weeks waiting for parts if needed....hate to lose the Summer.
Hey guys, any thoughts?:yikes:

Depends....

What do you mean they work sometimes..?? the flashing is controlled in the instrument cluster meaning if thats the problem you need to replace the whole dash (instrument cluster) :yikes: I would start with the switch. They also had some switches that would hang up and not self cancel. Then check the ground connections cause you checked the bulbs...:dontknow:

Earlier models from 2010 and back had "sticky" turn signals. They did not automatically shut off after a turn. I just got into the habit of manually shutting them off after the turn.

Happened on my 2008, 2009, and 2010. No further issues on 2011, and 2014.

I am guessing your problem is the sticky turn signal.

Ah ha. while torn apart to install Rivco risers on handle grips, the switch housing torn apart and relocated. Hit with some WD 40 as suggested despite clean appearance of inside housing. SURPRISE Gomer Pyle...darn thing has been 100% operating, instead of on again-off again for last month. Thank you all :2thumbs:

You might consider contact cleaner and when dry contact lubricant from Radio Shack next time. WD-40 is a cleaner and not designed for electrical contacts. I use it to clean my shift and brake linkages at the pedal and then lube with lithium water resistant grease. Glad it worked for you though.

Contact cleaner is not appropriate for this. The contacts are sealed bubble switches. WD40 causes no harm to them. You are just lubing the external mechanism. Everyone that know that have used WD40, including me on the switches have had excellent result. It has been 3 years ago since I did mine and it has has worked flawlessly ever since. Contact cleaner may make it worse by removing any lubricant that may be left.
