• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Why was thread yanked?

no problems with our 2013 rt and we ride in florida. i dont doubt there some spyder lemons like some gm ignition switch lemons. but brp bashing has gotten too inflamatory. i wish lamont would allow constructive complaints, but some of you bash all 2013 rt spyders which is not accurate nor...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

why Wife and I have been riding our 2013 RT in Florida for two years with no heat or any other problem. If it was a design flaw I would think many more riders would be effected.

    ABATE of Florida

I agree because individuals without helments often skip out of paying their emergency room hospital bills. But, thanks for getting the texting bill passed.

Very disapointed with BRP and their product!

The analogy is obvious to anyone who values something "new" as does Deb. Ask your wife to explain it to you.

Very disapointed with BRP and their product!

BRP posted on this website that they would "do right" by spyderann regarding her getting a new Spyder after her's caught fire. I thought "new" was what they meant and not a "rebuilt" bike. Not so sure now. One reason people buy new is emotional, to have something "clean" that no one has used...

Very disapointed with BRP and their product!

I wonder if spyderann is going to get a rebuilt spyder to replace her "used" one that caught fire. I am having second thoughts about buying another Spyder rt in 2015. Maybe trike a Kawasaki or Honda with a large network of experienced dealers. A rebuilt engine is someone's defective engine that...

Very disapointed with BRP and their product!

I would also be unhappy getting a rebuilt engine on a bike only 4 months. A 4 month old bike is still new since it was recently made (dictionary definition). Boo to BRP!!

First Coast Powersports-St Augustine: My service experience

Some dealers do not want to work on a bike if you did not buy it from them. I bought three bikes from a dealer in se florida and one out of state at a delaer in ct when I lived there for a short time. When I returned to fl that same dealer I bought 3 bikes from did a lousy service job on the ct...

    moving to florida

You could ride the spyder to fl and have the car shipped by auto transport. We used to do this from newark airport to west palm. I would watch them loading the car however so as not to bottom out while loading.

    2014 Rotax 1330 Ace Engine

Oil change will probably be 9300 miles or 1 year whichever comes first. Since most people will ride less than 4500 miles annually (the current oil change mileage) the cost of an oil change will remain the same, about $300 per year. But there will be savings from no valve adjustment, about $600...

    My Thoughts On The 2014

We also bought our base 2013 RT from RideNow in Ocala in March and have not had any problems with the Spyder after 2000 miles. Glad to hear they were cooperative in fixing your wife's Spyder. I think the bad rap the 2013's are getting is overblown as the Goldwing had similar issues and Honda is...

Reasons to Like the 2013 RT

It's fun to ride and is the most advanced of the pre 2014 Spyders. Great suspension and handling. Comfortable ride. Beautiful blue. Wife loves it.

    Chatter noise when taking off...

Took my 2013 rt to the dealer for recall. Paperwork clerk starts it up puts it in reverse forgets to release emergency brake and bike stalls. I tell him to release the parking brake. He does and bike chatters in reverse also in first. I tell him it never happened before so he checkd it out with...

2013 recall complete and 2013 leftover bargains

Just completed recall on our 2013 rt. Dealer said it was their standard practice to replace the mc even if no obvious damage. Looked at a few 2013 leftovers on sale. White rt ltd with brown seat $22,750 and an rts for $20,500. A leftover rt was sold while i was waiting. Dealer expects 2014's in...

    BRP got it made

When riders start complaining about defects on their new 2014 RT Spyders the 2013s with their few know defects and fixes will look better. Already one of the pcv valves on the news press demo 2014 Spyder was installed backwards causing it to stall.

2014 RT maintenance. Smoke and mirrors?

I like the specs on the 2014 RT, but will the maintenance costs be less for most of us who ride 5000 miles or less per year? Beside mileage there is usually a time limit for most maintenance items and BRP has only increased the mileage as far as I can tell. Not having to do a valve adjustment is...

It will be interesting to see BRP run a comparison what it will cost

I think a savings of $1200 in maintenance costs over two years is reasonable. However, besides mileage there is usually a time interval too between oil changes and other maintenance.
