• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Elka Shocks and Relocators - That Floating Feeling

Had the Elka Stage 1+ installed on our 2011 RTS at Spyderfest. Raised the front a bit which was a plus once the fronk got loaded for the trip home. Backed off the preload once we got back. The ride was too stiff for my liking. I agree your rear suspension should be considered as a contributor...

    If it's the same as the 2011 it'll be a 7mm hex.

Your Spyder - What Year, Model, Miles, Issues... ??

2011, RTS, with a clear view of 9k miles, NO PROBLEMS (other than those newbie caused issues and riding in this blasted heat (P0127)).

    Do you believe the Dealer

Lamont has given us a heads up a few times which has given me the advantage of knowing what I'm talking about when I visit the dealer. I prefer not to be a victim of the "mushroom tactic" Ron mentioned in post #3. This is one place I go to for bulletins. There is a Java thingie along the right...

What is the plug under the seat?

Scotty is right, again! It's a connector for the Genius Battery Charger. Look at the accessories page particularly the item identified as the "GC016 12V Dashmount Battery Indicator" near the bottom of the page.

    New mpg record!

If you use real gas (ie no corn) and use the pure-gas app on your iPhone or Droid there is a handy calculator in the app as well. Makes easy work out of tracking your mileage and helps you find the stations where you can get real gas.

Removing and replacing battery on a Spyder RT

The battery slides out of its holder toward the rear. Haven't done it in a while but I recall that there is a cable or some such thing that can get in the way so you have to lift the battery as you slide it to the rear. Be advised (I assume you have the OEM battery) you need to hold on to the...

    Senile or just confused

You're less than 40 minutes and an easy ride up 69 to Tyler where I'm pretty sure there is as least one Spyder rider who is also on the forum. Hang on to this thread. You're not alone. Hopefully you'll hear from Texas soon! Maybe you and the new owner in Mineola can meet in the middle at Tyler...

To Roll Off or Not To Roll off that is the question

Don't have the SE5 but isn't there a thread or two on SL that explains that there is no need to roll the throttle off when you shift 'cause at the moment the shift occurs the Spyder does it for you?

Problem: SE5 sometimes not shifting out of first gear-

Lots of discussion around oil on the forum. If you're satisfied with whatever BRP has put in their bottles during whatever production run your dealer happens to get then get it from your dealer. If you would prefer to know what's going into your machine, stand by. I'm sure you'll get a few...

    Some thing weird happen !

Long Shot Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. Taking it to your dealer is still in order but in the mean time remove the left side Tupperware and take a look at the MAPS vacuum lines and make sure they are in good shape. Should be! I wouldn't imagine an ST would have this kind of...

Major vibration in my 2012 rt sm5

Major Vibration What else can you tell us? Does the vibration happen at any particular speed? Any particular RPM? In any particular gear? The more particulars the better.

    Timeless Black One More Time

Guess this needs to stay here so the full size image, apparently via an HTML Tag, appears in the thread where I want it to be. What a waste of server resources! And two more for another post. Need to create a photo album I guess.

Heim Joint Link (Tie Rod) Breakage

I observed slight wear on the upper end of one of the links on my RT that had made contact with that bracket while the OEM bar was in place. To avoid that situation I installed the BajaBar slightly off center to provide equal clearance for both links which wasn't much. They are still in one...

    Parking brake question.

When I want to move my 2011 RTS SM5 around I leave the parking break off and the transmission in neutral (or sometimes not) when I shut it down. No beeps only the throttle body buzz.

Boiling fuel, hot legs & feet, melted boot glue & passive limp home modes

Boiling fuel, check Hot legs, check Hot feet, check Melted boot glue, check Pretty much normal for this time of year. No Limp Home mode yet but I'm no stranger to P0127 and the check engine light.

New enabled Spyder rider. Adaptions and advice needed. Is there a Walker holder?

Gave our neighbors a ride a couple weeks ago. Took some coaxing but since his wife and daughter-in-law returned in one piece I guess he figured he would too. He and his wife have a very clear view of 80 from both sides and had never been on a motorcycle let alone a Spyder even though their son...
