• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Member Introduction.

I'm sure you will enjoy the new ride when it comes in. By the way... when it does, you will have to change your profile picture to one with a big grin! :congrats:

    Introduction

Might want to consider an adapter to fit the tank profile that the existing tank bags can sit on top of. I fashioned one from polyethelyne foam and it works... though it does look a little funky. One which matches the tank bag material and size would minimize that effect. (I have the CL-400 Mini)

    Nelson-Rigg tankbag

I used charcoal colored polyurethane foam (like the stuff that sensitive electronics are packed in). A bit of a pain to cut (hint: use your electric carving knife). It's available at most fabric/upholstry stores. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow, but basically, I just cut a shallow "V" on one...

    Nelson-Rigg tankbag

OK... I have the NR 950 bags and with the extension straps, they work out great. You will have to mount them fairly low to allow the turn signals to be visible and the passenger pegs clear. The straps allow that. I also have the CL-400 mini tank bag. I had to do a bit of "creative thinking" to...

    Vibration

I didn't notice it too much until I replaced them with the ISO-Pegs... now I realize how much they were buzzing. Much smoother now! Highly recommended!

Who should pay my ticket? Motorsports of Tampa?

Each state is different, some have reciprocal agreements, and some don't. Thats why you must wade through the Fla and TN MVD rules. I live in AZ and bought in Calif. If the dealer shipped the Spyder to me, then no sales tax and no registration collected in CA... but both have to be paid in AZ...

Who should pay my ticket? Motorsports of Tampa?

Don't know for sure why they would want to register it as if you were a Fla. resident, but my guess would be that they didn't know how to register to an out of state buyer as far as collecting taxes and/or registration fees... and were too lazy or inept to figure it out. Easier to just collect...

    Foot Pegs

http://www.directlineparts.com/byProduct.asp?prd=Pegs+%26+Floorboards&sub=Pegs&str=290&ID=36542008e Use the KUR-7939 adapter and any Kuryakyn peg will fit. When you pick out the peg (I love the large ISO-Peg!) you actually order the peg with the adapter as a set and get a few bucks off from...

Mounting fast bolts on right engine panel

Worse here in Tucson... Ridenow on 22nd here told me the parts would be $78 plus tax... but of course they are overcharging for everything! :edit: Looks like I'll be buying a lot on line or taking a run to Phoenix. :-X

    Windshield News

I've had mine up to around 80 and it seemed real solid. I think the numerous swoops and curves in the design add quite a bit of rigidity in addition to deflecting the air flow.

    What's wrong with this picture?

That's it... the rear tire is mounted backwards. (I think the "floorboards are actually the rear turn signals.)

    Dealer price and add-on charges?

Back in May when I ordered, (from Berts in Covina) silver was 14999 and yellow was $400 more. I believe current MSRP pricing is 500 more across the board. Freight and prep for me was about $600 combined, but I made sure I had those numbers in writing before I placed the order. That is...

Marcel's F1 windshield does work. There are several threads and pics on both forums. Around town, I prefer the looks of the stock or touring screen... but on long trips or cold weather the F1 will be on.

    Helmets

Shoei Multi-tech modular. A bit pricey, but I'm worth it. Love being able to open it up to put on/off and makes sunglasses much easier to put on, too. Agree with other posts... don't mail order unless you have actually tried on the exact helmet and size size in a store.

    Risers for handlebars

I have seen more than a few cases in which fasteners are improperly heat treated... causing hydrogen embritlement. The bolts cannot withstand standard torque levels and even if they don't snap are frequently weakened and cracked. I hope this is not a systemic problem with one of BRP's suppliers...
