• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The touring windshield is useless

at 5'3", I still dont think you will be looking through the windshield...but at your height, you might find the touring windshield of more help to you because of the wind.

Its not about looking through it, its about the wind that is deflected when you ride.
Thats why I had to add a lip on my, becaise I was still getting blasted.

Hmm I am 5'4" and ordered the Touring Windscreen. I wonder if it really matters that much then. I don't want to look "through" the windshield. Do you look over it or through it (at 5'3" we should be pretty close)
Unless you are 3' you always look over it ;)

May I assume that now with the flip and considering your height the modification is optimal?

Optimal might be too strong of a word...but with the lip it is certainly better than it was.
I was getting blasted right in the neck and face before. It coming under my chin and trying to pull my helmet off.
Now with the lip. it seem like the wind is going higher and a little bit softer on my face.

Hey there,
I know, that some how, my website does not show up here, but at least I try.
I have made already so many Spyder Windshields that realy work, that I am wondering, that in this keeps this information not available.
Ther is no need for experiments and wasting money.
On my website: www.FairingScreens.com you see what I do.
Also soon I have a special Windshield website (for Spyder's only) at
www.SpyderWindshields.com available.
There you can see my customers Pictures and the Windshield Test's.
Thanks a lot
Marcel

I went to your site and it was just a redirect to your main site, nothing special relating to Spyders and you have some major java runtime errors too. ::)

I got an F1 from Marcel a few days ago and while it does look a bit "Alien", it kind of grows on you... but it does work! Realistically, around town (mostly under 55mph) the stock or touring screen is fine, but at freeway speeds or when the temp dips, the F1 will be on. There are some pics on other threads and if I ever get my new camera figured out, I'll post one also. (Did you know they don't use film any more?!?!) ;D

I feel your pain I am 6'4 and the wind feels like it is gonna blow me off at 80 with the stock windshield, however it is fun as :edit: to ride.

Hey Marcel, looks good. Can't tell if there's a flip at the top. Seems that the flip is rather important, or else just the height. Do you change the angle so that it raises more straight up? Any concerns about the ability of the bolts and plastic to handle the extra stress of more wind at more or a angle with "leverage" on the fasteners? Can you add little side wings for over the hand grips?

F1- Custom Made Motorcycle Windshields

Hi and Hello there,
first I would like to thank you all for the posted comments on my Windshields.
Here some news, I work on a website that will show ONLY Spyders with my Windshields on it. On this Website, I will post all comments and reviews and of course a lot of Pictures. Because I just don't find the time, it will take some more day's.
I also will have a Q/A section and you can ask me anything about my windshields
and I will answere and post it on this side. The name will be:
www.SpyderWindshields.com
Right now this name is Linkt to my general website www.FairingScreen.com
but as soon as possible, the SpderWindshields.com site will be up and running.
Also:
Because of sooo many calls I get every day from Spyder Owners, I have contacted BRP - Canada regarding the existing Windshield Problem. I did come up with several idea's to help.
Also they have now my Windshields for "Testing Purposes"in Canada available.
We will see what they will do. I try to find a solution that will give the Spyder Owners
a option to solve this "Windy"problem for good for NO EXTRA COST !!
Maybe there is a way, that BRP jumps in for a Free Windshield or at least a Discount on a new Windshield on each new sold Spyder. One thing is for sure, BRP does know, that the Windshields (Stock and Touring) does not work. They word is out, that in Higher Speed, the Spyder's are "hard" to ride and that there most be done.
I do belive, that we can fix this problem but like I say'd, I am just a Windshield Manufacturer and I can not speak for BRP.
Thanks a lot and have a great day.
