• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Elka shocks install question

I was doing other stuff and I had the frunk off my RS and I swapped out my standards with RT shocks in about 45 minutes. It depends on how much tupperware they remove.....I could see a max of 2 hours. It's not that difficult.......have you thought of doing it yourself......???

    A picture says it all

I have an '11 RT SM and I'm getting around 34 to the gallon and I don't baby mine at all....but I don't drive to the max either. We have some nice undulating sweepers around here and Boris doesn't see fifth on an average day. I found out quite early that I had to use more right wrist in fifth to...

The Granddaddy of all power outages!!

I remember it well....I drove through India and ran the narrow gauge steam railroads in the foothills in the late sixties and this picture may be duplicated on every street corner. Anyone ever driven a vehicle in India...?....now that is truly scary.....never been so bloody scared in my...

    The Opening Ceremony in London

I'm English too, and bloody proud of it. As far as the "excessive" expense of the fireworks being better used to feed the poor, how about directing the same vitriol against the money spent during a Presidential campaign.

    Spark plugs

What I heard was something to do with the difference in expansion rates and the placement of a thermally cold plug in a hot/warm head could cause things to crack/fail when things cooled off. As far as tightening the plugs, I run them up until I feel the plug seat and then just a squeeze. Don't...

    Spark plugs

OK....idiot question here: I've read cautions about changing plugs in alumunium heads and it should be done with the engine stone cold. Does this apply to the Rotax too...?

    Some HD riders are IDIOTS!!

I wave to all riders except when in the twisties....my hands stay on the bars....a nod of the head will suffice.

    Parking in public...

I had a similar occurance a few years back. I was an avid HO railroader and I had a very large layout in the basement centered around 1930's steam. Next door neighbor's yungun caught a glimpse of it and asked his dad to ask me if "he could run his trains on it". I told him it would depend on...

Missing---Joke Forum, so I'll just start a thread.

Took the Spyder for a ryde this eve. As I was leaving, GF asks, "Whereyagoin'?" "Drug store." "Well don't forget to get something to cure your ED." "OK" When I got home, she asked, "What didja get fer yer ED...?" "These are fer you." says I. "DIET PILLS.....!!!!???" That's when the fight...

    Question??? With all respect.

That was a great little machine...I had the choice between an Arrow or the Leader but took the Arrow 'cos it offered more opportunities for tweaking and had better brakes. I tried my hardest but couldn't blow it up. I was going through my 2-stroke phase at the time and I traded it for an...

    Question??? With all respect.

These posts are quite interesting but we do get these attention getters from time to time. I join all here in that I've ridden 2 wheelers for years and I remember running with HD's in England and not one of them could start a record on the jukebox, drive a mile to the roundabout and drive that...

    Billet Front Axle Kit Issue

Have a look in your yellow pages and you may find a business that caters to other off road speed equipment...they probably have what you need.

Sorry guys, it may be cool but the guy needs some serious reeducation....gives the rest of us a bad name....put him on a racecourse...OK....public roads....NO

    Throwing in the towel!!!

This issue should be brought before the Better Business Bureau and BRP themselves for their action. I know this apparent contempt for the customer is frustrating but if you've had good service from the vehicle, it would be a shame to make that emotional and financial sacrifice. This sounds like...

    Spyder in Crate

It's perfect that you were there for the Spyder hatching.....remember, they are like little byrds...the fyrst thyng they see they regard as their Mother. Remember, don't be too easy on it during break-in.... The fun can now begin..... Congrats, Ray

    Belt Tension and Vibration

I've worked with belt drives and idler systems for a number of years and I've seen perfectly adjusted systems do horrible things to idler tensioning systems. One of the problems is that you can pre-load the idler to deflect the belt statically but once the drive is running the "slack" side of...

    Ladies with long hair

I have waaaaaay over the shoulder length blonde hair (ex bassist....need I say more) and I refuse to cut it short...it has taken a lotta years to get this way and I can say I'll give Rick Wakeman a run fer his money...!! Mine goes under my collar and I carry a good hairbrush in the frunk.

The Start Of The NASCAR Season...

I like Larry Mac...DW has some interesting comments too. Someone on the TV started a discussion on whether NASCAR should include a road course in the Chase....might preclude the use of ringers. We have some beautiful racetracks in this country and we see pitifully little of them in "consumer"...

    Blocking both right side vents

2011 RS SM. I've been running around in still air temps of 100 F and, yes, it does get a mite hot around the right ankle and the inside of the right thigh.....so much so that I'm looking at ducting the fan exhaust by way of Spyderpop's system. On a related subject....I know some of you are...
