• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Gettin' Really P.O.'d

I guess I was lucky, mine was in the shop for the clutch. I wasn't having any problems with it, so I waited. While it was in the shop waiting parts, the steering recall showed up. Since they had the parts, they went ahead and knocked it out. I waited 9 weeks to get my Spyder back. So you...

    I had an interesting encounter

I guess we are all getting older and starting to forget..... It was Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!'. It was Khrushchev who banged his shoe on the table at the UN and said we will bury you. Ironically, we ended up burying them...... in capitalism!

    Relays?

You've never heard of the Lucerne Triangle? I believe in 1945 there were a group of Navy motorcycles that disappeared there.

    Headset gremlin

I think that is headset on mixed. That's what works with mine. Although I haven't tried it, I don't believe the CB comes through the speakers. No scientific basis for this thought, just a thought.

How do you know new DPS was done?

I haven't gotten a copy of the invoices for the work done, but it was all under warranty. They did go over each entry to explain what was done. They were filing the warranty data on Saturday, I'll pick up my copy of the invoices tomorrow. 2 invoices, the clutch was done on one, all the other...

How do you know new DPS was done?

Got mine back Friday. Had the clutch, steering and air bag done all at once (along with all the other campaigns). There is a definite difference in the steering. My wife noticed it right off, taking a sweeping right turn out of our subdivision. That turn required constant adjustment before...

    It isn't a Spyder,

Sadly, it's a performance demonstrator and not an actual model. Well thank goodness for THAT! I sure wouldn't want some knucklehead trying that 2.5 seconds on the freeway next to me!;)

    Corbin Armrests...

Well, at least they have instructions now. When I got mine 1 1/2months ago, there was nothing in the box and nothing on the web site. I think I'm going to ride mine for a little while before I tear it apart again.

    Still no DPS

I guess I was lucky, so to speak. I put mine in the shop for the clutch recall in the middle of August. While it was there waiting for parts, there were a couple of recalls and campaigns. I get my Spyder back tomorrow. So for all of you who are still riding but waiting, at least you are...

Any ideas how to secure a Nolan n-43 helmet to the Spyder?

:) You must live near Houston! There are some places I'll leave my helmet and jacket on the bike, but only if I can see them. Otherwise, that's why I have all the trunk space... jacket, pants and helmet.

A quick question (or 2) about gears

Ah, ok, got it. I was confused apparently, since I did say slower traffic keep left. I guess I was thinking of how it is, not how it should be. Course, down here near Galveston, we don't have too many 3 lane roads going up and down hill!

J&M 2003-DU CB KIT SPECIFIC FOR CAN-AM SPYDER

Hmm, I looked all over their web site and couldn't find a statement that it wouldn't fit on and SE5. Doesn't look as if the paddles are in the way according to the installation pictures.

A quick question (or 2) about gears

Shifting is a very personal thing, it's what you feel comfortable with. The guidelines above are pretty good. I don't go to 5th until 65 or so. It keeps the "vibration" at a minimum. Same with downshifting. I down shift when I feel the bike will not give me power if I have to speed up. If...
