• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Relays?

While crossing the dry lake in Lucerne Valley yesterday my bike suddenly went into LM, ironically at the same spot as a previous ryde several months ago with the same result. VSS ... check DPS ... I pulled over, unseated and reseated the relays, pulled the key and walked 10 feet behind the bike, jumped up and down in a circle 3 times, turned the key 3 times without starting. Then started her up. No problems for the rest of the trip. I'm making the same trip today. Will let you know if its a location thing or not.

You've never heard of the Lucerne Triangle? I believe in 1945 there were a group of Navy motorcycles that disappeared there.

Cue the Twilight Zone music. :D

I hope you don't have the same problem in that area again; however, it would be very interesting if you do. The gremlins might like that spot for some reason.

which way do you turn in your circle:popcorn:

Counter-clockwise.

UPDATE: It did it again today dog gone it. The same EXACT SPOT on the road. This time I had 2 witnesses. Roughly, its the corner of Barstow RD (Hwy.247) and McDowell Dr if you're looking at Google Earth or maps. As you can see, its in the middle of a dry lake and there is nothing there. Long time ago there was a radio transmitter for a commercial radio station but no longer. I repeated the remedy: reseated all relays, removed key and walked 10 feet behind the bike, danced, replaced key, turned it off and on without starting 3 times then started the bike. No problems after that. I didn't see any UFO's overhead. I've never had any trouble with the bike other than this at the same exact place. Can the computer be affected by external transmissions: radar, electromagnetic, radio, etc?

BTW, this only happens when I'm traveling east on 247, not west.

After looking at Google Earth, the source most certainly has to be coming from this building at 34degrees 31' 15.50"N 116degrees 56' 37.74" W

No idea what the building is.
