• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you know new DPS was done?

Finally got my bike back. Everything feels the same. Also noticed no mention of the replacement on my invoice. They said they did it but I'd think it would be invoiced even as a mandatory upgrade.

Got mine back Friday. Had the clutch, steering and air bag done all at once (along with all the other campaigns). There is a definite difference in the steering. My wife noticed it right off, taking a sweeping right turn out of our subdivision. That turn required constant adjustment before, over steer, correct, over steer, correct. Now, just a constant pressure to maintain the turn. She did not like being in the captains seat before, said it was hard to control. Now, she likes it.
I still have some drift at highway speeds, but I believe changing the tire pressure will take care of that.

New DPS

Got mine back from the Dealer yesterday:2thumbs:. I had a bunch if work done including the DPS. I did 14,000mi this Summer so alot of maintenance was required. My invoice lists DPS Recall with a Warranty Claim Number.

The replacement should be on the invoice. That is your only proof it was done should you have any claim later, even though a tech should be able to tell by just looking at the new unit. If you don't notice any difference, you may not have been ungraded. And if you haven't and the dealer said you did...I would pursue that issue. All of us who have had the new DPS installed noticed the difference and you should too. If my wife can notice the difference as a passenger, there is a difference to be noticed.

Also I am not sure what they did on my 6000 mile service but immediately after the brake failure message started appearing. I took it back to do the DPS (supposedly). So they checked the brakes but charged me for cleaning and lubing the parking brake and adjusting the brake fluid level. I'm no mechanic but wouldn't that be part of the 6000 mile service I just did?

Had the new DPS installed last Friday and immediately noticed a big difference. For starters, manouvering in the car park was real smooth without that "notchy" feeling that I had become accustomed to. Went for a 300Km round trip on Sunday and have to say that the new DPS delivers on all fronts. No more trepidation, lots of exilaration. The way it should be.

My paperwork lists Job: DPS recall (Warranty Job)
Part number 709400962
2.42 hours of labor...
If your paperwork doesn't mention it, take nobody's word for it that it was replaced!

Yup--- you should have got a detailed receipt.

What I think you want is a way to know for SURE that it was or wasn't done BEFORE going back and giving them HEII.

You could either go to another dealer, or try and get in and get a pic of the labels on the unit-- post the numbers out here and we should be able to figure out if it's new or not. You might have to take the trunk off to do this.

I shall just ask for a receipt for my 'records' first. If they provide one, no problem. If they say it was not actually done now, they lied again and I go to BRP, the DA, and every consumer agency I can think of. Lieing about a necessary recall replacement is fraud at best and criminal at worst. I am tired of being the victim here.

This place has a rotten rep and there is no other dealer that I know of close. Certainly need to find one within a couple hours. I know Cuba and Cowtown are 4.5 hours away but I would like something closer. Anyone know of a good dealer/service center within 2-3 hours of NE Oklahoma. Near Tulsa.

For those of you with honest and competent dealers thank your lucky stars.

The part # listed on my invoice for the DPS is 709400963.
My Spyder is an 08 Gs sm5.

I helped the mechanic install mine and took pics of the 2 units laying together.

I haven't gotten a copy of the invoices for the work done, but it was all under warranty. They did go over each entry to explain what was done. They were filing the warranty data on Saturday, I'll pick up my copy of the invoices tomorrow. 2 invoices, the clutch was done on one, all the other work on another.

I ride 160 miles one way to get any special work done on our Spyder by a BRP certified tech/mech with over 20 years motorcycle experience. I sit there and watch him work, ask questions, etc. If it has been done, I see him do it. It's worth every mile and the ride is always awesome.

I like Jacumba's way. Does anyone know a mechanic or service center like that within riding distance of near Tulsa Oklahoma?

They claimed it was just an oversight and are mailing me a copy of the invoice. Actually they tried to blame me as if I lost it or something but they always have a defensive posture.

I would still be interested to know FOR SURE it was done---- you should notice a difference......

Called my dealer and spoke to service. The DPS can be seen when you look under the front and where the steering parts are. If the DPS unit looks new, then it is. If not, then it's your old one. But, if it looks new, it may still not be the right one if you can't tell the difference. Not trying to confuse you, I hope this helps.
