• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Summer Deflector Removal

Took mine off last year, didn't bother to put them back on. Winter ryding isn't cold enough here. The service manager went nuts trying to find them after doing the recalls and upgrades. Now that they've been off for a year, I realize I still need more air!

    RTS Parking brake troubles

We decided to take the Spyder out to breakfast this morning. And possibly go on a 2 hour ride. Got all suited up, cranked up the beast and couldn't get the parking brake off. Last time, it was the module that controls the windshield up/down. Haven't taken the skin off yet to see if it's off...

    Direct wiring ipod to battery

I've got a 12v "cig lighter socket" with alligator clips on the ends hooked up to my battery and plug the Garmin in under the seat. It is functional, but not "technologically correct" or pretty. I use it for my cell phone too. Plug in a cig lighter to USB converter and it's all set...

    The dumbest Spyder question yet.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people who ask them. Case in point... the other day while getting gas, a guy walked up to me and asked if I liked it and if it rode well. I said yes to both and noticed his cigarette in his hand. I told him that I would appreciate it if he went very...

Do you wear a helmet? Your choice?

Actually, that was turned over in the last legislature session, went into law Sep 2009. Used to be you had to have something like a $10000 insurance in order to ride helmetless, but not any more. I guess they figured that $10,000 wouldn't even cover one day in ICU after cracking open your head...

    I think this proves itself...

Are you sure? How about family and friends? Just about every accident I read about where the occupant wasn't wearing a seat belt, the cops say the accident probably would have been survivable had they been wearing their seat belt. This appears to be no different. Helmet wear is the rider's...

Optimus prime can am spyder pics

Is that the same one that Kevin James rides in his new movie, The Zookeeper? Saw a trailer last night with a quick shot of him riding what looked to be the same bike as Louracing's avitar.

    Real gas and mileage

To see if the extra cost is worth the extra mileage, divide your cost of the tank of gas you just replaced by the miles per gallon you got on that tank. I calculate every fill up that way. Sometimes the premium (93 oct) is cheaper per mile than the 87 oct due to the better gas mileage. Sounds...

    Riding in the rain...

I put a good water repellant on the windshield. Today was the first time I've been caught in the rain (since we've only had 1/2 in since Feb!). I ran the windshield all the way up. The only problem is that the windshield in the up position is to upright for the wind to push the rain off. No...

    Headset Question

MY dealer ordered 2 driver sets since each of us would be driving, so nothing to compare. Not sure why there would be a difference.

    Older Ryders

I have a plaque from my younger days of flying which says "There are Old Pilots and there are Bold pilots. But there are no Old Bold Pilots." When I was young, I was bold (and stupid), as I got older, I got smarter. I see that in most of the older ryders too. So the stats don't lie, but do...

    Polarized lenses or not?

You don't need another pair to test for polarization, just do the same with glare on a window, or looking at the blue sky. If the color changes or the glare goes away, they are polarized.

    RT-S Cup Holder

Rather than buy a handbrake, I put a ram mount just aft of the front speaker. Right now, I've got a clamp on holder, but eventually it will be a RAM holder.

I think they did good with La Grange, but this one would have been my second choice. Heard it on an internet radio the other day, now it's stuck on an endless loop in my brain.:gaah::helpsmilie: That was for Scotty......:D

    Passenger armrests? RT- Limited

A few tips from my experience installing the armrests. Buy new hardware and fender washers. The hardware that Corbin supplies is junk. Due to the angle of the allen wrench, I stripped out the first screw. Bought some SS screws at Lowes along with fender washers. If you don't use washers...
