• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RADIO FADER SETTING

Mr. White

New member
As a new guy and trying to learn how to operate the radio system on my RT, I did not have good volume in my helmet headset. I found the FADER setting was on R6....more volume for the passenger headset. I changed the fader setting to F6 and now get more volume in my headset (or front speakers).

QUESTION

Fader Control

I have connected my front speakers via an Autocom switch that allows me to
switch the music from the front speakers to an input for a Bluetooth
transmitter the switch is 3 way

1 - Front speakers on
2- Speakers off
3 - Music sent to Bluetooth transmitter

The only problem I had is I can still hear the rear speakers
I tried the Fader on the Audio screen by setting it up to the max on Front
Speakers expecting this to close down the rear speakers completely
but on mine it does not - They can still be heard not as loud but
enough to know they are still on

So whilst riding with music going to my headset - Front speakers off
Music would still be coming out of the rear speakers

Should the fader control switch off the rear speakers off completely ?

Re the above problems :-

The Radio is supplied N Touch So I am not sure if there is any settings for adjustments

Any information would be useful

Thanks

ANSWER

The fader situation is due to the vehicle gauge not having enough range in its software program to fully fade out the rear speakers. The radio requires seven steps and the gauge only provides six steps. BRP is to be advised of this so they can update the gauge software.

If you have any other questions, I will be happy to assist you.

WOW! Perfectly worded question Eddie and well worded answer! And a great contact for all of us.

Only comment I'll make is that amplifiers do not like not having load on them. Meaning, if in either position where your front speakers are off, I assume the Autocom is physically removing the connection. I just read their brochure and I can't tell if they're putting a resistor in place of the speakers so the amp doesn't get hurt. Just a thought.

Phil re you question above see the following :

Ref the Autocom connection - This is what the details state :-

Autocom PART 2275

Designed to let you connect a typical car type stereo system to a bike powered Autocom, and then switch the music between either the on-bike speakers, or through the Autocom headset/s.

Part 2275 has a black lead with a 3.5mm stereo jack plug, which should be plugged into the music socket* on your Autocom system.

*I use a connector to join the 2 X 3.5mm Jack plugs together

1 from the Autocom Part No 2275
1 from a Sony TMR-BT10 Bluetooth transmitter to my SENA Headset

The black in-line block contains the isolation/reduction circuits.

The switch lets you toggle the music between the headsets, or through the on-bike speakers. The two black leads are for connecting to your car type stereo music systems speaker outputs, one for the left and one for the right channels.
You will need to experiment for find out which is which, depending on how you have speakers installed

This system has been in use for several months and so far no problems

I didn't think the fader worked with the headsets, only the speakers.

I guess it does, it made my volume in my headsets much better (stronger) so it helped me. When it was set on R6 it was low and got stronger as I moved up to F6. I ride solo, so that was my own concern.
