• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Easier clutch update??

My 100 lb wife thinks fer F3 clutch is harder to pull than she would prefer (if she's caught in some long urban traffic). I can't imagine anyone actually having an accident due to it's higher effort!! She wouldn't have gone the manual route if it were that difficult....it's is more of an...

    Easier clutch update??

My wife drove both versions before buying. She noticed the strong clutch, but wanted to go with the manual enough to buy it. I also rode both and far preferred the feel of the manual. Of course, it's a personal preference, but we feel the manual has a better connection with the machine. Maybe if...

    Easier clutch update??

Anyone heard an update on the availability of the parts to make the F3 clutch easier to operate? My wife is eagerly awaiting this mod.

    Madstad F3 Windshield Improvement

My wife is using a 14" shield from them and it is a good height for her. Someone should start a chart of shield height vs body height for satisfied Madstad riders.

    Gear chatter in neutral?

Many Vettes , Vipers, etc. have what is commonly known as NGR......neutral gear rattle. My Victory also had it. It occurs in N with the clutch lever out. I'm not diagnosing your noise, but am just saying that it happens elsewhere.

    F3 SM owners- Some relief

I am eagerly awaiting this mod as clutch effort is the only complaint my wife has with her F3. Got caught in some traffic in Nashville today, she complained a bit, but said she's still happy about her decision to go with the SM6.

    Ryde or ride?

At least we know the people who use "ryde" are doing so on purpose (and creatively) It's not just more abuse of our language through misspellings, poor grammar, poor sentence structure, improper punctuation, etc. I've been on forums for more than a decade now and have watched the writing get...

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

I'm not here to cause trouble, but if we really want an answer to this top speed question, we need to have speeds verified via GPS. Speedos are commonly known to optimistic at higher speeds. The tach is accurate, so if we had a GPS-verified 50 mph vs rpm, we could extrapolate what your 7100 rpm...

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

"Top speed" would be defined as no wind and flat road. Was the 121 a GPS or a speedo number?

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

You certainly have addressed claims of 130 mph! I would have predicted the speed higher in 5th gear than in 6th. Were your numbers from the speedo or a GPS? If you average the speeds with tailwind and headwind, you would get a reasonable number for top speed w/o a wind at all. That works out...

Was the 120 mph on your speedo or a GPS?

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

Motorcycle driveline loss is only about 10% as opposed to cars' 15-20%. Thus, the H-D hp is still far under the F3 even measured at the rear wheel.

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

The tests you've seen are probably for a ZO7. The ZO7 is 10-15 mph slower than a ZO6 due to massive downforce.

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

I agree.......with 850 lbs, the aero of a brick and only 115 hp I don't believe the laws of physics will allow any near 130 mph.

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

Valid point, but I wanted to do a real life comparo in the rpms we'd likely be in at the same time. Years ago I owned that torque-monster Vulcan 2000 (141 TQ) My son had a Kawi ZX10 (bike does over 100 mph in 1st gear!) I told him I could beat him. We got side by side in TOP gear at 30...

Interesting performance comparo between F3 and Indian

My wife's F3 weighs 50 pounds more than my 2014 Indian Vintage. I weigh 50 lbs more than her, so the weight difference is a wash. The Indian has more a lot more TQ and it arrives sooner. The F3 has more HP in the upper rpm range. Given the weight, TQ and HP specs I just shared, the results...
