• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tie Rod Shaking Why?

i don't have a ryker but you should not see any movement in your tie rods. if they are moving back and forth you have a loose linkage somewhere. I would check both end links and make sure you haven't lost the nut on either end of the link or make sure both are tight. this is a big safety issue...

F3 sprocket question - which lube/paste is best when re-fitting?

i don't know if you're keeping score or not, but the OP used Kluberpaste or whatever and the sprocket only lasted 5k miles. I'd say that's a big hell no to that being the solution, warranty or not. I'm sticking to my loctite 8012/51048 as i don't have any confidence in anything else at this...

F3 sprocket question - which lube/paste is best when re-fitting?

We are both referring to the same product. Loctite 8012 is the same as loctite 51048.

Looking for waterproof riding (over) bibs/pants recommendations

I use 2 piece IXS rain gear. It's made in Germany and I'm lucky my LBS carries a line of it to try on because i had to go up 2 sizes on the top and 1 size up for the bottom for it to fit. It runs small. Mine is black, but it also comes in HI Viz. I didn't like Frogg Toggs for riding and this...

Oil change - which way to undo the drain plugs?

Unless you are standing over the spyder this is backwards..facing the drain plugs its lefty loosey, righty tighty..

    Warped rotor?

If the problem appears again its more than likely a caliper issues. I would get it checked while still under warranty and before it destroys new parts. Someone in another group had a similar problem and she had a piston issue in one caliper. Me being a DIYer, I would use an infrared thermometer...

    Big Thanks to Lamont

I kinda rotate between Lamonster and Spyderpops. I only do oil changes with Lamonster, but try to support.both. I've kinda given up on dealers so these guys are my lifeline to keeping my spyder on the road. Just got my Bajaron swabar from spyderpops, so now back to Lamonster for those sweet new...

What is the deal with deleting the catalytic converter?

i have a RLS ceramic coated cat delete which is about a 25lb weight savings. I did it to cut down on the heat. Definitely louder with no baffles and an Akra Sinister pipe. The tone is deep and the only time I notice fumes is when backing into the garage. Seen maybe +1-2 mpg at best, but i can...

    BajaRon F3 anti-sway bar

I have 165/55/15 Federal 595 EVOs. The handling is much sharper and ride smoother. 1 wheel didnt even need balance weight.its a v-rated tire also. Now i have a BajaRon swaybar, but 1st shop quote of $750 to install it was ridiculous for a '17 F3S. Hopefully I can find a decent shop to take care...

put on the new kenda kannie

I just put some Federal 595 Evos on the front..oh man they freed up the front something wonderful. Its a lot more nimble in the corners and just seems to steer better plus its a vrated tire.

    Torque axle vs Torque nut

I would say you would not get an accurate torque reading torqueing the axle due to the drag it has on the frame. More than likely you would be below the actual target torque setting unless you an free up drag on the axle to get a proper reading. Just a thought from a guy who has turned a few...

Federal 595 EVO vs FORMOZA AZ01

Looks like the perfect tire for me! Thanks for the link..looks like a nice sticky compound and nice looking tire. It would be nice to find an equivalent v-rated rear tire. Looking forward to trying these. My front kendas are starting to feel like bricks @11k miles..

F3 sprocket question - which lube/paste is best when re-fitting?

Did the dealer just install a new sprocket or did they use any type of paste or lube to protect the splines?

F3 sprocket question - which lube/paste is best when re-fitting?

Noted, just pointing this out as most people associate loctite with just being a locking compound. I agree with you though..no way those 2 parts will not have any movement..nature of the beast. Hopefully they can just play along nicely with the right lubricant. Im hoping the high moly content...

F3 sprocket question - which lube/paste is best when re-fitting?

just because its branded Loctite doesn't mean its a retaining "glue". Loctite 8012 is 65% Moly and is more anti seize than glue. i used this on my pulley when replaced at 10k miles. The process is called fretting when 2 metals rub against each other like the sprocket and output shaft and the...

    Rust dust

The output shaft is hardened steel. The sprocket is usually the casualty when you see the red dust.
  17. B

    Rust dust

The purpose of the lube is to reduce the chance of the metals fretting. I'm not sure how freely it installs. The constant pressure from the output shaft against the pulley will eventually wear down the pulley(softer metal). The moly paste is there to act as a protective barrier between the...

    Rust dust

the shop charged me 6.5 hours to replace my pulley. It took them about 3 working days to get my old pulley off. We more than had a discussion about that bolt being properly torqued which is why i marked the bolt. I had no intentions of breaking the tension on it to check the torque. My...

    Rust dust

Sucks it's already started, good that you caught it. At least you marked the parts for future reference. My dealer looked at me confused when i showed them the level of decay on my pulley. The rust IS wear on the pulley yet they didn't want to address it as a warranty or recall problem...

    Rust dust

My statement was more a reference for the spyders already on dealer showrooms. yes, this should be addressed at the factory and i honestly feel adding some lubricant (moly paste in my case) will protect the pulley and shaft from fretting. the little 8oz container i purchased could easily...
