• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dear BRP---Please display MPG on the LCD panel ?

I have a trip computer on my 2013 F150 which cost me less than $18K new (b4 taxes n stuff). The trip computer tells you MPG AND how many miles are left for your current tank of gas which would be even more useful especially if it were fairly accurate.

    Paint

I have a 2010 RT and the paint codes for my RT are in the 2010/11 Factory Service Manual. I suspect you will get more accurate answers if you list your bike year/model in your signature. Based on the stuff you have added, I am thinking it isn't a 2010.

2016 youtube video on the lineup

Click the youtube link. A 30 second reprise of Spyders that looked a lot like the ones out there now. The one called "touring"? Not sure that was the intent as it looked like a stripped model with no bags or trunk, etc. How do you tour without some extra storage? No specs.

100 watt bulbs that some of us installed in our RTs or other bikes (posting for Mike!

The length of wire also has an impact on what gauge it should be and also keep in mind that power coming from the main fuse or relay area for the headlight switch is coming quite a way PLUS the headlight switch likely won't like the additional load any more than the bulb holder did on the bike...

100 watt bulbs that some of us installed in our RTs or other bikes (posting for Mike!

The older you get, the harder it is to see at night. The SIMPLEST way to increase headlight brightness is to use a higher wattage bulb. A 100W bulb used in place of a 65W bulb provides increased brightness. I am not sure what gauge wire or wattage rating the Spyder headlight socket is but it...

100 watt bulbs that some of us installed in our RTs or other bikes (posting for Mike!

The wire gauge is also too thin for 100W bulbs. As a vintage bike mechanic, I have often switched from 50W high beam builbs to 100W bulbs after changing the sockets and wiring and running them off a relay.

    2015 Spyder RT-S SE6 vs. RT Limited SE6

The 2010 RT had no radio. Think if done again, would get the model with radio. My pillion rider will likely get a bluetooth helmet and end up listening to Pandora. Not having an intercomm is the plus side. She doesn't like to hear me complain about bad drivers or cows wandering in the road.

2014 RTS pulls to the right

The Spyder was aligned at the factory. A record of this is stored in the Spyder's ECU and if you get the laser alignment done and then NOT re-enter alignment info in thto the ECU with new settings, the bike will pull to one side just like it did before the alignment. Since it pulls, take it...

Any Windows XP Gurus out there? If so, HELP!!!

Try hitting crl, alt del when things slow. Look at Task Manager then select processes. See if anything is eating memory. I run XP with latest service pack and I have a memory leak in my comms software package. I can stop it and continue to run fine and then must reboot to restart the comms...

    Anyone know what this is?

Take a multimeter and turn your key on. Put the POS probe on the cut red wire where it is dangling and the NEG probe on a frame ground with the meter in lowest VDC scale. Check both sides of that thing and make sure none of the exposed wires are hot.

    "Missing Belt Guard"

I have read several reports of rocks damaging belts/sprockets.... not sure how effective the piece Spyderpops sells is but for the price, well, was a no-brainer. If it cost twenty-two gazillion bucks, well I would have to make some sort of a decision but but a couple bucks, no decision needed...

    Canadian vs US Spyders

Are Canadian and US Spyders identical? California generally has their own spec models due to their extra stringent smog regulations. Recently, someone selling a bike in Canada mentioned they were close to our border. Just for my general education, what is necessary these days to import a...

    Anyone know what this is?

The heavier gauge red wire is the give-away. It is 12VDC and the small holes are for plugging in hot wires for some purpose. A ground block likely won't have red in-out.

    RT Comp Ratio

Your post is pretty much spot on for the most part. The Spyder is designed to run on 91 octane but appears to have the ability to adapt to lower octane fuels and not knock. Perhaps the on-board computer retards the ignition advance a bit to compensate. I do feel it best to keep to the...

    Article in our local paper

Heavy bike clique: "the Spyder is clunky when it’s stationary but nimble when it’s on the move." How the heck can a 3 wheel vehicle be clunky with stationary. Sit on mine and it just, well sits there. No clunks. What a dumb thing to say by a journalist.

    how much gas?

Geesh... and I read my owner's manual every time I start the bike up as the bike instructs me to. You would think I would remember such things. My purpose in asking about the 998 fuel tank size was to judge how much fuel I actually had when I think I am running on fumes. Last time I lit a...
