• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dear BRP---Please display MPG on the LCD panel ?

Here's a thought that would be helpful for long distance riding.

The computer meters fuel flow, and the odometer ticks off the miles.
It should be a fairly easy matter to display the estimated MPG.
The estimated MPG could go along with the ECO mode on the LCD, or it could be an optional display like the IPOD controls or Miles/Kilometer.
Or you could add the MPG to the odometer page, along with hours and average speed for trip A and B.
While you're at it, the fuel gauge could be added into the mix to also show estimated miles remaining on the tank.
With modern computer controlled fuel injected vehicles, this information is readily available and often displayed for the drivers use.

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I suppose a Trip Computer for a $38K AUD RTS is just too much to ask. For Christ's sake they are standard on $15K Australian cars :banghead:

I have a trip computer on my 2013 F150 which cost me less than $18K new (b4 taxes n stuff). The trip computer tells you MPG AND how many miles are left for your current tank of gas which would be even more useful especially if it were fairly accurate.

In the trip mode it has MPG but it is no where close, once it said 72MPG, usually its in the 40s when I really only get 30. BRP probably don't have a clue.

:hun: My RTL has MPH for Average Speed, but not MPG. Thus, 72.x could be right for a short, high speed run. Mine is also usually in the 40s, which is pretty reasonable for an Average Speed in mph (as my cluster shows right after the 4x.x numbers for average speed).

I would suggest taking a much closer look at your cluster display... I know I can't find any mpg reading anywhere.

Satisfing....

would be nice for all those who worry to extremes about the MPG's. I check the trip devide by the gal's purchased and bingo...and can do it in my head..:yikes: don't need to add $1,000.00 to the price to know these are not the most economical machines on the road. I would like a fun factor guage...:roflblack:

I would like those features also.My old 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee had that both instant and average.Cant be that hard or expensive to add. But I agree I wish that the lettes were alot bigger. Or maybe an adjustable font size.

It does have a trip meter. 2 actually A and B.

Let me me be more clear, a trip meter that shows mpg as the op said.
and the fonts should be bigger so those that are vision impaired can see them

MPG pssssst

How about adding fuel used and miles till empty instead of the WORTHLESS FUEL GAGES. you know something all of would like and need, but that ,s just my opinion an I could be wrong

Not trying to a Jack@%%

But what did you do before cars became so computerized
When your gauge showed 1/2 tank of gas left did you need someone to tell you that you will need gas in X amount of miles
Did you figure your own MPG by how many miles you went and how much gas you put in the tank
All those things are nice but if the screen is so small you can't read it what good does it do
We don't need 2 gas gauges 2 speedometers 2 Tacks and 2 temperature gauges
a much larger LCD screen would be the best and they if they don't duplicate all those gauges the cost would more than likely be a wash

:agree:All too simple to make little more accurate. The peg gauge for gas is better than most but the rest of tech is there just make it more useful. :firstplace::pray:

I don't want to turn this into a flame war, but your post begs a response.

I say these things in jest to make a point, but I've had people ask me the very same questions.
I note you have a GPS on your bike ? What's the matter, can't read a map ?
How did you manage to ride a bike that didn't have heated hand grips an adjustable windshield and a radio ?
You have a trike. Can't hold up a two wheeler any more ?
Again, the above comments were exaggerations to make a point, not intended to insult anyone.

If the technology is available, why not use it ? All the hardware is in place. A couple of lines of code will make the MPG readily available, and BRP can place it on whatever screen they want in a font that is easily readable.
And yes, I agree, I would gladly trade the clock for mpg readout.
It seems to me if the RPM is an optional display, MPG could be as well.

It just struck me on the way home from SpyderQuest that this display would be helpful, but as you point out, not necessary.
If it becomes available and you don't use it, no one will penalize you.

I do have an average MPG display on my 2 wheeler and find it wildly inaccurate. I use the range to empty but that also relies on the accuracy of the fuel gauge. These are nice to have and I'm sure they could be incorporated quite easily for more $. Yes I would like the dis play fonts bigger as well and the angle of the display changed so it is easier to see at a glance.

I.m really old rode till the bike quit then turned on the reserve valve. Now look for gas station.Just kidding but this bike does have a gas gauge around 1/4 tank look for gas.I don,t care what it gets for fuel economy it,s a toy.Ride have fun:yes::yes:
