• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Since it's been almost 50 years since I last had a Ford,

Ah yes, the eco boost...some love em, some hate em. All depends if you're lucky enough to get a good one. Now with the 2.7 and 3.5, it's a toss up. I chose to go the old reliable 5.0 route in the 2016. So far so good. The Bronco looks interesting for sure, and even the Ranger looked...

    November Weather News

South central WI is "normal" for Nov 1st. It was 60 yesterday and very windy, today it's 35 and still very windy..LOL.. high pressure and cold front. This week is predicted to be great though. No precip for the next 8 days with some days reaching 60*. It should be a great harvest week. Looking...

    Cold weather gear discussion

There are many brands of polyester base layers that are "wicking" layers. Those work great, and they're thin, so it makes it easy to layer up and strip some off as the temp warms during the day. I just wear insulated jeans, and if its real cold, I'll put a pair of longjohns or something similar...

Anyone heard of GOOLOO Emergency jump starters? Any good?

I have the Rugged Geek from Lamonster too. I've used it a half dozen times on various things, including a Spyder at a rally once. Handy tool to have, and so compact.

    TricLED contact?

Spyderpops or Lamonster could likely help you out too.

What Chocks do you use for Trailering Spyder?

I do what Mike does, but I put a strap over each wheel. It consists of 6 anchors and 3 straps for a perfectly secure setup...and MUCH cheaper than any fancy chock system.

    Portable table?

We have 2 small canvas, collapseable tables. They're about 16" square and about 20" tall, with 2 cup holders in each. I've never tried to put them in the frunk, but I'm certain they'd fit. Used to use them for camping. Similar to this but not exactly the same...

Recommend an Exhaust for a 2012 RT?

Check out RLS Exhaust. He has some good options. I think he's a sponsor on the site now too....??

    October Weather News

Sure can't complain about the weather in southern WI for the first half of Oct. Expecting our first real freeze tonight, but still looking at highs in the upper 40's and low 50s. The fall color has been the best it's been in my memory. I'm guessing the frost and the winds will put an end to it....

    winter oil change for storage

Here in southern WI, I change ours once a year, in the fall before storage. Actually I jumped the gun a bit and did it already last week, and I expect to get a few hundred more miles before nap time. A few hundred miles on the oil before storage won't hurt anything. I like clean oil in the...

What is the deal with deleting the catalytic converter?

Some do it for the weight loss, some for the heat loss, some for the sound difference. The cat holds a lot of heat under the seat. I removed it for a while but then I felt there were leftover exhaust fumes that were much more noticeable. I put it back on

    Increasing Visibility?

I used to have the A-arm lights, but they didn't really seem to add much, so I added a set of driving lights onto the A-arms. They are awesome, very visible (much more so than the stock fog lights) and they offer "useable" light for driving in the dark. Otherwise, the lights stay on high beam...

    It's a little bit trashy.

Another vote for critters, mice most likely. Just because you don't see 'em, doesn't mean you don't have em. Clean it up real well and keep the area around it clean and free of anything to build a nest with. As mentioned though, it might have come from somewhere like that, and not found by the...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Changed the oil in both RT's yesterday, 2016 and 2019. Probably not going to get too many more miles this season, so I got it done while the weather was nice. By Nov 1st I'm sure there will have been some salt spread on the roads, and once that happens, it's over, til spring. Warm this week...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Didn't do anything to mine, but I just put an RLS Torpedo muffler on my wife's '19 RT. She likes it....too bad it's 50* and raining..

    Like a Cruiser

Well, it depends on your definition of "Cruiser". Me personally would not be able to ride an F3 because of the sitting position, therefore I ride an RT. If "Cruising" means relaxing on a nice day long trip, then the RT is perfect for me. I can set the "cruise" and go. I'm sure the same can be...

    uncomfortable in corners

Loose grip, eyes up and always looking as far down the road as possible. Always look at where you want to go, NOT where you are. Push and pull equally on the bars, as you feel your body weight shift, put downward support on the foot that's on the outside of the corner. Lean into the corner a bit...

    vibration at 70

Likely belt vibration as mentioned. A good tech can adjust your belt to make it stop, to a point. There are factors of course that cause the vibration at given speeds under certain loads, but pretty much every Spyder does it at some point. It's a matter of what you're willing to live with...
