• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Seat Release

Been ryding mine with the lock pin out for almost 3 years now, and I often push hard thru the twisties. No problems with the seat.

    Chuckles for today

Great stuff, Bruce! And speaking of waving back, was that you I passed as you were heading south of Hope on highway 7 a couple of weeks ago? I was riding 2 up on my yellow Spyder.

    solenoid valve and charcoal canister..

You can test the solenoid by disconnecting the purge valve connector and using jumper wires from a remote battery across it. You should feel it click. If this works, disconnect the purge valve vacuum hose from the throttle body and test for valve leakage with a MityVac set on vacuum. A few...

    Passenger rules

On my GS/RS, I find little difference in normal highway riding when 2 up, but in tight twisties my speed is definitely lower. The Evo swaybar helps a lot, in both cases.

    Firefly... sway bar

Even the newer design bar with the additional bends will fit nicely. You may have to pull the bottom of the storage compartment out a bit more and wiggle the bar a bit. If you are using those C clamp type stoppers that were found on the original bar, remove them; they are unnecessary.

    Firefly... sway bar

Wyliec, if you have a set of the evoluzione installation instructions, just do steps 6,8,9,10,11,and 12. For step 13, all you need do is replace the 2 bolts that hold the storage compartment on. There is no real need to undo any wiring or take off any Tupperware. The only tools you need are 10...

RS High Windshield Thoughts and Poll

Can you undo 4 screws? Switch 'em around, tall one for bad weather, shortee when you want to make a fashion statement. And I like the look of my 23" BRP shield, so I vote "jerk"!

    Amsoil in the SE5 ?

I take issue with BajaRons statement:" The SE5 is different only in that it is electronically shifted instead of manually shifted." Actually, the SE5 is hydraulicaly shifted, using engine oil which is boosted to 147 psi by a special pump. Whether or not this makes a difference in oil...

    Auto transmission question

Bahomet, this has happened the odd time to me, as well. The trans can be shifted manually into neutral, or any gear using a 13mm wrench on the linkage flats, which are found on the left side, just ahead of the peg. It's in the owners manual under " Road Side Repairs". Only takes a minute.

DUI check point, what a way to be welcomed to cuba!

They recently made a law against texting or hand-held cell phone use while driving here in BC, but I still see lots of cagers doing it. Fines need to be higher, I guess.

The gas price surge is being felt here in WA

It's bad here in BC, too. Plus our local twit provincial government recently added a Carbon Tax to each liter to "protect the environment" (scoop more taxes). Needless to say, I always fuel up in Washington state, every chance I get. None of this will stop me from ryding, though.
