• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle Body Caput - Vidal Junction, Ca.

Wild speculation won't resolve the problem. If the active codes don't show, the fault history needs to be looked at in BUDS. Guessing wildly or playing the law of averages is a waste of time...and money if a tech is involved or parts are replaced. There are a lot of possible causes, and the...

Throttle Body Caput - Vidal Junction, Ca.

In the absence of an appropriate fault code, it would be premature to point at the throttle body. The gauge vs. temperature problem indicates a sensor or wiring problem. That can affect engine operation and cause limp mode. Time to try to get to a dealer.

    Long time, no codes

As you have learned: P1120 = Wrong Throttle Accelerator Sensor (TAS) position - Wrong TAS sensor position, Both TAS sensor failed test...Check TAS adjustment P2620 = same or TPS sensor problem This could be adjustment, a sensor problem, or a wiring/noise issue on the CANbus. Dealer...

    Long time, no codes

There are no 6-digit codes. Are your codes P0112 & P0262 or P1120 and P2620? When you let me know I will try to aim you in the right direction.

Upgrade to a higher amp fuse or direct to the battery?

What year Spyder? I don't know about 2013/2014, but the RT outlet is fused at 10 amps for the earlier RTs. In that case the wire would take it. If it has been changed, I would not do it. Sorry, I don't have a 2013 or 2014 wiring diagram. I would not recommend this anyway. Those outlets are...

    How many miles?

The best way is to remove the belt and physically check for wobble/fit. You may be able to do it with the belt in place by removing the securing bolt and looking for signs of a bad fit on the shaft splines, including rust buildup. It requires removing the left side bodywork to access the drive...

Want To Eliminate Oil In My Air Filter Box

Unless the crankcase vent was rerouted to exit near the rear tire, oil on the rear shock is usually a result of being thrown there while riding, or a failed rear shock. Clean it off thoroughly, and try to determine the origin.

    How many miles?

Sounds to me like your front sprocket and/or driveshaft is shot. This is partially caused by an over-tensioned belt. You might also have bad rear wheel or rear wheel sprocket bearings, but I'm betting on the drive pulley. Your tech should have caught this in either case. The inability to...

    Handlebar front brake....

The braking system on the Spyder does not have separate front and rear brakes. It is a distributed braking system controlled by the VCM (Vehicle Control Module). You cannot separate the front brakes, nor should you try. There is a secondary, hand-operated brake that controls all wheels...

    How many miles?

Some have gone more than 100,000 miles. Damage is usually a result of poor storage (sun), chemical exposure, improper alignment/adjustment, a loose front sprocket, or damage from road debris.

New guy with question regarding preferred yrs

I think you will find the performance and reliability similar throughout the simpler GS/RS/RSS line. The battery was moved forward in 2013 and the brakes were changed to Brembos with larger diameter front wheels. I believe these changes also affected the sport Spyder models. You might want to...

    "BRAKE FAILURE" What to do?

If the parking brake cable jumps off the pulley, you should see "Brake Failure" and the parking brake icon. The parking brake will not hold and the icon will not disappear, even if you set the parking brake. If the parking brake rear drum is slow on the return, you may see the same situation...

New ST Owner wondering about break in.

Don't worry about some stupid salesman or a finance manager that is trying to get into your pocket. They may have just been misinformed or they may have been lying through their teeth to try to sell you something, but they don't count. Only the service manager, service writer, and tech count...
