• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any reason a forklift can't be used to lift up a Spyder for service?

I totally agree, that is why I lifted in the front suspention arms and through the rearwheel rim. That will have same effect as if the Spyder stood on a pallet.

Any reason a forklift can't be used to lift up a Spyder for service?

That is the only picture from that set up, sorry ! In front I put slings around the lower arms on the front suspention. In the rear end I put a sling through the rearwheel rim and had both end going up to a spreader bar that was hooked in the crane to prevent squeeze on the rear plastic parts...

Any reason a forklift can't be used to lift up a Spyder for service?

Hi and welcome to the forum Northernsledder. Lifting the Spyder with a forklift is doable of course, but it has to be done safely and within the forklift's limits. Are you just planning to get it off the ground so you can get under there and change oil and filters? I would never feel safe...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took out the halogen bulbs in my running lights (low beam) and put the new led bulbs in  Wayyy better light on these dark roads over here. High beams are so far very good, so I will wait a while with those.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Rode my 2012 RTS to my dealer and they did a valve check and put new gaskets on the valve covers. I also had them do a belt adjust and alignment after I put a new belt put on and had no way of figuring out the tension myself. Got some led bulbs too. Spyder felt great on the way home and...

    2012 Spyder RS SE5 showing P2545 and C0044 fault codes - help?

I was aware that it is not the same fault code Snowbelt and I stated that in my first reply : "On my 2012 RT SE5 I did the pedal reset when I had a "low brake pressure" fault. But I literally stood on the pedal with all my weight when doing the reset. That cleared my fault codes but might not do...

    2012 Spyder RS SE5 showing P2545 and C0044 fault codes - help?

Hi Mabus and welcome to the forum! If you put the codes in the search box top right, you will get some previous threads with the same issues. Reading those might help you out! On my 2012 RT SE5 I did the pedal reset when I had a "low brake pressure" fault. But I literally stood on the pedal...

998cc Is this High Oil Usage??

Thank you for info Ron ! I was not that highly overfilled and I have not been riding hard either. It looks dry around the valve cover gasket also, so that is good. Going for a valve adjust next week at the dealer and the gaskets will be replaced with new ones also. I will tell the dealer about...

998cc Is this High Oil Usage??

Sorry for jumping in. My 998 use oil like this also, but I did at one point overfill with new oil. Manual states : DO NOT OVERFILL. What kind of damage can this cause ?? The Spyder was ridden cpl of days with this level.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

New belt came yesterday, but too late for me to start working in the garage, so today I got it installed and aligned. :ohyea: Since so many of the panels were already off, I also gave it a wash before putting the panels back on. Weather forecast looks great for the rest of the week, so I will...

My headlight plastic is turning white!! Any way to fix this??

Thank you for the feedback, Peter. Then my suspicions were not way off. I will ask my dealer when I take the Spyder for a valve adjust on the 14th of September and hear what they say about it. When or if I get new ones, I will probably be better off putting in LED bulbs. They do not make that...

Wondering why pictures get posted sideways?

When using my phone to shoot pictures they are mostly in portrait orientation. If I post directly to the forum they come out sideways. Before posting I use windows photo editor and just crop them a little bit- save them and load the edited picture to the forum. Now they come out the correct...

My headlight plastic is turning white!! Any way to fix this??

Hi friends! My 2012 RTS headlights are turning white, and it seems to be on the inside. Is this from bulb heat only? And is there any way to fix it? From what I could see the headlights reflector and "glass" are glued together?? It looks like it is above the lens and backwards, so there is no...
