• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone installed a CB Radio on a 2018-'20 Spyder RTL?

To use the J&M with Sena Bluetooth headsets, you connect a Sena SR10 module to the J&M headset output connector.

Anyone having issues updating your zumo xt gps (garmin)

Does not matter as you cannot install the Zumo XT maps to Basecamp like you could earlier Zumo models. Basecamp will only work with the Zumo XT maps on the device while connected. No idea why Garmin is playing games like this but they are.

    Oil Drain Plug Removal

On ALL 1330 engines 2014 to 2021, the engine side plug is torx and the trans is 6mm hex. There has been no change since the start of production to current. On the 998, the trans side is also hex (same plug by the way) but the engine side (oil tank) is hex on some years and torx on later years...

Aftermarket sounds... How do I make something work?!

Link a smartphone via bluetooth to your BRP Connect system and it will play the tunes stored on the phone. Its one of the few things BRP Connect system actually does ok.

Interesting news out of BRP on electrification.

I am not against electric versions. But what I see as a real problem with the announcement is that BRP is going down the same road that led to the failed BRP Connect system. They are reinventing the technology in house rather than using tech that was developed by much larger companies from...

Question for really smart electrical Gurus

Your OEM Yuasa battery was already an AGM. The Chinese battery from Slingmods is a step down and they do not last long. As for the Sulfur smell, remove one side body panels and check for corrosion of the valve covers and other cast aluminum parts. There have been several reports on 2020 RT of...

    Lithium battery advice and review

Lots of folks have tried these over the years in Spyders. They do not last long. The Spyder charging system is programmed for an AGM battery. Also while they have the cranking amps, they do not have much reserve capacity so be very careful of vampire loads that drain the battery while is...

    What maps do you use?

The tunes work but must be mp3 files in a directory called MP3 on the microSD card. If you have music playing the spoken directions will indeed override the music. Basecamp has a steep learning curve to be sure. Once you learn it, it does work. The ALT key is your friend. Sorry it did not...

Need to find a warranty company

Avoid the aftermarket warranties. Period. They do everything they can to avoid payments and many dealers will not bother dealing with them. If you cannot get the BRP warranty, you are far better off without one or looking for a different bike.

Is there an F3 and F3S Bump Skid available?

Bumpskid fits fine with the SS grille. Just need longer screws.

    What maps do you use?

Curious what you wanted the Garmin to do that it would not.

Gold Plugs - are the torque specs the same as OEM?

The plugs for the 998 don't have the design defect as they do not have the 2 o-rings mid plug. The show chrome plugs for the 998 are fine.

    What maps do you use?

I use Google Maps on my PC to build and research routes. Then when I am happy with them, I build the routes in Base Camp for loading to the Garmin. A hint, if you build your routes in Google My Maps, you are no longer limited to 10 waypoints. Just 10 waypoints per layer and you can have 256...

Gold Plugs - are the torque specs the same as OEM?

The OEM transmission plug has a magnet. The engine plug does not, solid steel.

2015 Spyder F3s battery removal problem

The rubber strap unhooks from the bracket at the top.

2015 Spyder F3s battery removal problem

I have replaced many of them. Remove the rubber strap and the hold down bracket on top. Tip the battery forward and grab it by the top and lift out.

    2020 Ryker overheating

I think perhaps you misunderstand what the dealer is telling you. A great number of the things that can cause overheating are NOT warranty issues. Dirty radiator, low coolant and the like. If you bring the bike in and they find a cause that is not warranty related, you will be on the hook for...

Need new front tires on 2010 RT - any recommendations?

Tire Rack and Discount Tire both stock the Bridgestone Potenza 165/65R14. We also stock them and have installed many sets. Great tire for the older Spyders that have 14" wheels.
