• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Done - Rear Tire Replacement on my 2020 RT!

This all seems like a lot of trouble to avoid removing one bolt through the lower shock mount. Then the swing arm drops down, all tension on the belt and axle shaft is gone and there is also no need to remove the muffler.

Anyone have ideas on fitting Mechanical Parking brake? 2011 RT

This is not true for semi auto Spyders. At idle or bike off, the clutch is disengaged so it does not matter what gear its in, it free rolls.

Why would you not just fix the broken parking brake?

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

Smoak made the job far worse than it needed to be because he did not know what he was doing. A 3 arm harmonic balancer puller with nuts behind the sprocket would have had it off in less than an hour. He did not need to break the sprocket, destroy and cut off the rear flange nor buy that...

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

He can't remove it because he is using the wrong type of puller. You cannot pull on the flange, it will just snap off.....as he found out. Still its more than a 36 minute repair even if you use the right tools.

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

ADVAN Fleeva V701. 205/55R15. Its a direct replacement for the S-Drive we ran for years before the ADVAN. Nearly identical tire.

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

Abysmal is when you twist the throttle on a warm day and dry black top and the rear tire just spins with little forward thrust. This is what hard rubber station wagon tires do...but they do last longer even though they do not grip well. Not just an opinion. Back to back testing albeit on two...

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

The Yokohama ADVAN has MUCH better traction both wet and dry. No, it will not last 30k miles. Averages about 18 to 20 but with far better traction than this tire or the OEM Kenda.

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

Its a hard rubber tire, yes it lasts but traction is abysmal. Was not impressed at all. About as bad as a Kumho. Sorry but these are not a great tire for a Spyder.

Front Sprocket Seized on shaft, dealer doing Recall work - any suggestions?

Very common actually. Tell them to get off the phone and use a 3 arm harmonic balancer puller to take the sprocket off.

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

that is not the same sprocket as the final fix. Different part numbers. The number cast into it is the casting number which is different. Yes the new sprocket (silver, not white) uses the same casting but its machined to different dimensions to allow the use of a spacer washer behind it to...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

If your sprocket is white, its not the recall fix but an interim repair. Recall fix is silver and unlikely you got one a month ago.

I Need help from an electronics guru?! 2011 RT with BUDS issues!

Now that the problem is known, you refer to the wiring diagrams and diagnose the circuit from the pedal swatch to the ECM to find where the problem is. You now know its in that circuit somewhere.

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

Its not aluminum. Its cast iron and its the same casting as the prior sprocket, just machined differently to accept the spacer behind it. Metallurgy has not changed.

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

If you got it back in an hour, the repair was NOT done correctly. The loctite bonding agent has to cure overnight before you can ride it. Ignoring that makes it useless and defeats the whole recall.

Is 2022 F3-L rear tire removal the same as RT-L?

No need for fender or saddle bag removals. Remove the shock bolt and lower the swing arm. This also takes all tension off the belt making removal very easy. Axle, brakes etc are completly exposed for removal as well. Then the tire/ wheel comes right out. Don't forget to disconnect the ride...

I Need help from an electronics guru?! 2011 RT with BUDS issues!

If your mechanic is waiting for BRP to diagnose the bike remotely, you are at the wrong shop. Especially with an older bike. You need to find a mechanic that KNOWS the older Spyders and can diagnose on his own using service manuals and diagrams. No small order I know. But your bike will not...
