• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear axle nut cover fell off - doesn't 'snap' on! Anyone lost one?

I have never had any problems with the rear covers on mine but my bike was used and did not come with the 2 for the fronts. The shop manual shows covers for these also so I bought them and installed. Dresses up the bike a little and now I don't have to look at the nut and cotter pin spinning as...

What's best for Cold weather winter storage? Fuel additive? Battery care? Rodents?

I take it as you are not a fan. I just changed my back tire and put in Ride-On. Have nothing but good things to say about it so far. Just another reason to get her out when the temps flirt with 40F. Around 5C for you I think.

Never Say a Spyder Can't Flip

When I do that my back tire breaks loose and drifts until it gets lined back up with the fronts and then we are off and running.

What are the risks of changing the HCM Filter without BUDS?

I have done it twice now on mine. Make sure you note the tightening sequence that comes with the filter and do not overtighten. Only needs to be snug. Manual says torque in 97 in lbs. I go 50 first time and then the 97.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Test rode my new un-balanced rear tire with Ride-On and new brakes all around. Very smooth. This is my 2nd Vred Quatrac 205/60R15. Forgot to reconnect the rear position sensor so will be doing that now!

Uneven brake pad wear, rear Brembo on 2014 RT Ltd - Part 1 & 2

I have the same uneven wear front to back on pads. When I checked the pins the 5mm hex pin was not rusty but the grease was sticky. Also the pin was only finger tight. Tightened and cleaned and relubed. Hope this fixes it. I was thinking a misalignment problem and needed shims.

Is there a Code Reader for the Spyder?

When I got the dreaded Limp Home warning my brother knew the right 3 buttons to push and that revealed P340 I believe, which a quick check on my phone told me was the cam position sensor. I don't remember the right 3 buttons for my bike, but I got a phone to call my brother. After the fix, the...

Any thoughts on this Handlebar vibration/shake?

The service records supplied to me by the original owner showed that the OEM front tires were replaced by BRP because they were out of round. Owner complained because of shake in the front end. You could check yours by jacking a tire just off the floor and spin and see if that tire contacts...

    Vredestein tires

The Vreds are an amazing wet tire. On my recent Saddlesore 1000 Challenge to SD, I was forced to stop to put on rain gear in what I consider moderate + rain. With 25,500 miles on all tires, I was able to resume 65+ mph for around 12 miles with zero concerns. The sound of water getting pushed...

I also use the Vred 205/60R15 on the rear. I have almost 28,000 miles @17Psi. Getting close, but it should get me to the end of the season.

Just finished the saddlesore 1,000. Rode from La Harpe, IL to Custer, SD. Left at 11P and arrived at 8P mountain time. 1014 miles by gps and 1006 by odometer. Back home now with 486miles day 1 and 443miles day 2. Day 2 heat was brutal.

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

My data since I purchased it 48 months ago and 47,649 miles. 1,257.7 gal used so 37.89mpg. $5,022.35 spent on fuel so $.105 per mile. $/gal is $3.993. A mixture of 87-93 octane and probably 25%/75% 2up/1up.

What's the easiest way of Lubing rear bag cables on '21 RTL?

On my '16, I had to beat on the bag to get it to open while pulling on the handle. After cleaning and lubing the latch, they now open first pull. My cables have never been lubed and pull with very little resistance. Mine were the latches.
