• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Questions regarding trailer hitch & module for 2015 RTS

Glad you found it. As Billybovine said, use dielectric grease or buy marine butt connectors that are pre filled with grease and have longer sleeves. Personally I solder and heat shrink but that's not for everyone. Enjoy your trailer!

Questions regarding trailer hitch & module for 2015 RTS

Is there any chance a converter is stashed under the trailer? My trailer is a 4 wire trailer. My Spyder harness is a ShowChrome 5 wire harness. I stashed a 5 to 4 converter under the trailer, on top of the tounge. I ran a 4 wire loop to the coupler area so I can use either 4 or 5 but if I had...

Sena - Garmin - iPhone interface

Garmin While not identical, I have an iPhone 6, a Sena headset and the Garmin Zumo 590 and they work fine together, including the Smartlink app. You may want to re-visit your settings. I have found that doing a Garmin update has changed my settings for some reason.

Running Trailer Wiring To The Battery on an 14 RT

Wiring with minimal panel removal I'm sure many will not think my method was a good idea. I taped together, every foot or so about 12 feet of red and black 14G wire and put it in 1/4 split loom. I pulled the battery cover in the trunk, the small cover above the fuses by the diagnostic plug and...

    GPS Choice

590 What I don't see mentioned often is the smart phone app that works with the 590 as well as the TPMS. Yes, there are other devices for TPMS but I like having fewer gizmos on my dash. The feature I absolutely love about the app is the ability to bring up radar over my route. I can then make...

    Lazer alignment $

Madison, WI I think Madison WI was about $110 last summer.

7x19 Legend aluminum 7 by 19 V nose aluminum. Holds the Spyder and 2 two wheelers.

    What GPS do you have

Like Ranman42, I have the 590LM that I bought for my Harley and added a mount for the Spyder. I like the TPMS sensors for the Harley and I like the Smartlink app. I seem to attract storms so I like having the ability to superimpose radar over my route. I like being able to shoot a contact...

    Trailer for rt

I use mine only when I travel with my wife. I want her to be comfortable so she doesn't have to pack light. I split the difference and bought a blemish version of the following on eBay for $1200. Decent looking but not crazy expensive. http://theusatrailerstore.com/blackhawk-motorcycle-trailer/

Connect 5 wire trailer to 4 wire bike.

I wonder if there is any chance that whoever installed your trailer light harness installed a 5 to 4 converter under the Tupperware. If so, you couldn't remove it and bring the 5 wire out to the hitch. Just a thought.

    Trailer for rt

Trailer I would add; Look at where the trailer body is relative to the axle. I bought a nice, dual door trailer. I have difficulty getting my load balanced to keep the hitch weight under 40 pounds. The trailer capacity is mathematically fine. Getting enough of the load behind the axle is a...

    Riding Boots

Cruiserworks I have had the same pair of boots from Cruiserworks for at least 13 years now. They are still totally waterproof and extremely comfortable. The down side, they are crazy expensive. My riding buddy has a pair and the sole started to separate after 6 years. The repaired them free of...

    riding in the heat

I wear a microfiber shirt, evaporative cooling vest and a Tourmaster armored mesh jacket. I'm and old fat guy and rode my super hot Harley from Wisconsin to Monterrey Mexico in August. It's not pretty but it works.

    s. o. s. d. d.

Bought my 2015 RTS in July. With only a few hundred miles on it, it stranded me 60 miles from home with the gear position sensor failure. Got a lift to my dealer and handed him the key. My Spyder was on his VIN list. He picked up the bike and it was ready for me by noon the next day. I'm nearing...

    RT trailer hitch

I believe the part number for the shaft (called retaining shaft) is 705 202 243 so I would say you should be able to order it. I too bought my BRP hitch off eBay without the module. While you will find a ton of opinions on the modules, I felt that there were several posts about failures of the...

    Lifting an RT

I bought a Redline HD lift table. 1500 pound capacity. Bought black pipe to widen the outer supports. I use PVC to hold them apart. Had to get HarborFreight ramps, 6 feet long, cut down to 4 and welded the 2 two foot sections together for a third ramp. It easily lifts the Spyder. With measuring...

    Towing storage question

I've done this twice with my Sprinter and enclosed trailer. I looked for a secured (fenced) storage facility. A little Google work for my target cities found me some options. A few phone calls and I had them.

Buying a new RT accessories question

It varies I started by negotiating for the bike I wanted. I believe in supporting local business and this was the third bike I purchased from this dealer. I also traded in a 2008 Spyder GS, got a discount and the then current BRP rebate. This got me to an acceptable price for a 2015 RTS-SE6. I...

    Traveling on water.

Took the Spyder on the Badger last fall. Quite frankly, didn't tie it down at all. Just left the parking brake set and was fine. It's a lot of fun on a nice day.

    Trailers for behind the RT

THEUSATRAILERSTORE I bought the Blackhawk model from the usatrailerstore. I bought a "B-Stock" from them off eBay. It looked rough in the pictures and had lots of blems. The one I received was much better than the one in the pictures and included the cooler package. The only issue I had was...
