• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

The cost for gasoline rose about 10% here in the last couple of days. Effects of the Iran situation, I'm sure. But. I'm trying to make sense about why the price rose so rapidly. After all, the gas I bought yesterday is from the same storage tank that sold the same gas for much less a couple of day before. It had not yet been replaced by gasoline refined from higher cost oil. Its cost was established long ago. So, why did the price go up so much and so quickly? BTW; I fueled up at Costco and it was VERY crowded. Looked almost like panic buying.....
Price at the pump is based on what the current wholesale price is.
They try to always get enough income to replace their current stock, as their normal condition is full tanks to minimize supply disruption when unexpected demand hits.

Good explanation. So, we're not paying for the cost of the fuel we're buying, we are paying the anticipated cost of the fuel that will replace the fuel we're removing.

I put the new battery box I built into the tractor today. Hooked up the battery and topped off the radiator. Bumped the starter one time and it fired right up. Idling smooth as silk. I watched the radiator for a few minutes to be sure it was circulating and all the bubbles were out. Then I closed it up with a brand new 13 PSI pressure cap and watched the temp gauge. Had it at high idle around 1100 RPMs. It hit the mid-point operating temperature on the gauge, then the temp dropped a bit when the thermostat opened up. Everything working perfectly. I cleaned the concrete floor under the tractor with oil dry before starting it up. If one drop of water, oil, or hydraulic fluid had leaked down it would have been easy to see. The hood and the front grill are still not on it. The side panels are still not on. I left all that stuff off so it would be easy to see if everything was OK. Running smooth for a 20 year old tractor. No diesel smoke, no lag. Gonna quit today. I will put the hood and side covers on tomorrow. Still got to build a heavy duty front grill guard for it. That won't take long.

I think most of us were Boy Scouts when we were younger.
Nope, never was a Boy Scout. Had an Uncle over in Jacksonville and my cousin was in the Boy Scouts. They would drive over to camp on the river and have 5 or 6 boys with them. They stopped by the farm to pick me up. I always went with them to show them the way through the pulp wood roads and make sure nobody got hurt. They were all a couple years older than I was, but I had been fishing on that river with my grandpa and uncles since before I could remember. There wasn't no street signs on the pulp wood roads.

Speaking as one who keeps a sizeable stock of both ammo and toilet paper, I agree. (y) 🤣

I just bought a box of 30/30 levers out of the glass case by the register in Tractor Supply store last week. I asked the girl at the register if she wanted to see my ID to be sure I was over 18.
