Where does the ZUMO 660 GPS Wiring on a 2014 RTL run?

I have a Garmin Zumo 660 on my 2014 RTL, and want to remove it, to run the wiring for a Garmin XT. So I'm wanting to know where the 660 wiring runs to before I start thinking about running the wires for the XT.

Right side there’s a connector behind the cover it plugs into. Closer towards passenger right leg area. You have to take the covers off to get to it, and run the wires back to the handlebars.

So you pretty much have to remove all Tupperware, back to right the saddlebag? And is there a way to define that wire from other wires?

Runs beside gas tank. There are 2 plugs inside, 1 for power, 1 for audio. If you start up by the handle bars, you can wiggle to find the zip ties to start to separate them, then pull up thru that area. The sides around the handle bars will have to come off.

It’s like in front of the right bag but behind the side cover. It’s a two pin power connector that's black. It’s an involved job, especially around the handle bar area. I removed the right headlight to get to the steering area where it comes down from the handlebars. The audio plug as mentioned will not be used with the XT.

So the right side covers do have to come off. It's a larger black cable. Try not to damage it, they are expensive; and I don’t recommend pulling hard on those cables either. They damage easily.

I have the headlights out to install LED's, and I have the side panel removed. So I see the wire coming from the old GPS mount and how it goes along the right side. I can see where the audio can be disconnected and further back the two pin connector I believe you are referring to.

I am trying to understand what I need to do with those wires. You recommend not pulling hard, that they are expensive, etc.
Why am I pulling them at all? What do I do with these wires? It looks like they are wrapped up with other wires and connectors as well that I would need to unwrap etc?

I'm just not following what I would need to do with those wires?

Is it just for the power/ground to the new unit? Couldn't I cut the wire at the GPS attachment and splice to the power and ground to go to the new unit, or to the USB ports on the new bracket I am installing?

The instructions for the mount I have with USB says to splice into the accessory wire and provides a couple of connectors.

Also, it looks like it would be difficult to get at the lower right handlebar bolt with that cable in the way. So should it just be cut off at the GPS bracket so I can get to the bolt and then connect into the power/ground wires? Would a GPS unit such a Zumo XT require more wire connections?

I am obviously not familiar with wiring and so I am a bit confused.

Are you saying for the ZUMO XT, in particular, that you would run the wires from the XT to this two pin connector back by the saddle bag, and be removing, i.e. pulling the existing wires out?

Edit 9-13-25:

I cut the wires that were running to the old Garmin, spliced to my new bracket with USB and phone holder and it is working fine providing power.
