• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A perhaps foolish question on towing a Sea-Doo

I have a 2014 RT with 33k miles and recently moved to Lake County in Central Florida. On a bit of a whim I had a tow package installed. The thought was maybe camping in a motorcycle pop-up camper (now less likely) or perhaps a Freedom Trailer to allow touring with my lady who simply needs to...

What benefits from Ethanol Free fuel & other questions?

Bert: Thanks for the insight. Previously I always opted for the highest octane at the pump and never showed more than 10% ethanol. Elevation change is minor as slightly upstate from NYC was never very high. Of course fewer twisties here in Florida but little change in riding habits. However...

What benefits from Ethanol Free fuel & other questions?

I am not tech motor savvy but enjoy riding my 2014 RT. I recently moved to Central Florida and found a local station that offers an Ethanol Free option. I had long heard that this fuel was far superior to other options but do not now the technical reason. So I started buying E-Free fuel...

Looking for Central Florida roads - any recommendations?

I have recently moved to Central Florida from New York. I am near Leesburg which is roughly halfway between Orlando and Ocala. I know I won't find roads like upstate New York or my beloved Blue Ridge Parkway, but have found some decent roads through the Ocala National Forest. Running out of...

A saddle bag, trunk lid and Tupperware saga

I have a 2014 Spyder RT Limited. I am not much of a mechanic but have an issue and a problem. I am currently in Richmond VA getting ready for a Blue Ridge Parkway adventure. Unfortunately all the service departments locally are booked up for weeks to come and will not see me in the next two...

What is the Average Age of Spyder Owners? - 2nd Edition

The survey reminds me of a joke Mel Torme told when I was managing a theater in Naples FL. He said that when he played Sarasota he discovered that the average age of his audience was between 80 and death. And that when he played Naples he discovered where their parents lived. My boss banned...

    Spyder Sightings

Harriman State Park Saw a red RS on Kanawauke Road in Harriman State Park midday. I followed Seven Lakes Rod and he took a different path. Love those roads and much cooler today than surrounding areas! ATWALT All Three Wheels Alla Lovin' Time

    Ran The Dragon!!

Dragon is lots of fun, try weekdays instead of weekends and holidays if you can. Have ridden it on two other two wheelers and on Spyder last fall. Photographers on the route can give you a nice souvenir (as you may note I have). I agree that I enjoyed Rt 28 more but felt better marketed on...

Live free and die: Michigan's motorcycle helmet law four years later

People keep focusing on how anyones decision not to wear a helmet is raising your insurance premiums and therefore is injurious to you. Accordingly I demand that all of you stop eating red meat, sugar and fat (especially that delicious bacon) as your insistence on doing that is what is really...

Things you want BRP to make standard on Spyders.

Wishlist a) Better command center with GPS, better iPod/iPhone interface, more features b) Tire pressure monitoring system built in c) encoded protected pocket to toll tags that can always be read but secure from theft

    Easy pass

EZ Not Pass I have tried mine in Frunk and Glove box, neither successful at certain readers. I have settled for lower windshield which ain't pretty but works. I dream of Can-Am designing a tag mount that eliminates theft but allows reading as part of the design of the RT, which was made for...

    First Time Without a Helmet

Me Again I'm the unfortunate soul who started this thread last season. I have a variety of helmets, including two fine Shoei toppers. I never ride without a helmet on two wheels but on some occasions enjoy the sensation of helmet free riding on three wheels. Yeah, I know I'm not perfectly...

    Blue Ridge Day Ride.

Love the BRP and sounds like a great time. Drive just a little farther south on the road and check out Craggy Gardens, for my money the prettiest spot around Spyder Walter

    E-Z Pass on F3

I tried mounting my EZ Pass under the frunk lid and inside the glove box. Neither triggered the reader on the Bear Mountain Bridge. The kind and patient attendant there explained that different readers are of different strengths and orientations (he suggested turning the device 90 degrees...

    ARDEN VALLEY ROAD RE-OPENED!

There is a short stretch of a lovely road with great twists and wonderful scenery in Harriman State Park in New York called Arden Valley Road. It is closed between December 1 and April 1 to keep the park from having to keep it clear of snow. Today, cold, light snow on the ground, it was...
