• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Gas capaity

Bone Crusher, I would not say that I ride conservatively, but I don't spend a lot of time on the interstates. I shift at a little above 4000 most of the time and ride a lot of secondary roads or highways. I don't ride aggressively all the time, but do have my moments. It is my daily rider so...

    Gas capaity

My record as far as gallons put in is 6.136, I have a picture of it, the distance traveled 221 miles. I had my throttle body replaced at Spyderfest III, since my fuel mileage has gone up by 2 mpg. I am now averaging 35.18 mpg over the last 11 fill ups and frequently getting within a few miles...

Durango or Bust...and Back Home Again

Scotty, Smells are linked to memory more than any other sensory. I remember going back to Great Lakes (Navy) for my sons graduation and the one thing that brought back memories of my time there was the smell of the steam coming out of the grates around the base. It is amazing how the memories...

Anonymous Donates so Original Grip Buddies Can Become a Sponsor

Got mine about a week ago, but wanted to wait to post till after I had a few days with them. I chose not to use the sticky and to just wrap them around and Velcro. Once you stretch them around and attach to the Velcro they are pretty tight and don't move. When I first put them on it did not...

    Baker Wings

I love them, they keep me cooler in summer and warmer in winter, I am a year round rider. No change in fuel mileage.

    Front wheel bearing

One other thing to check, I was getting a clunk when I got on the bike and rocked from side to side when I started looking I found the tie point for the anti-sway bar on the left side was loose. Tightened it up and all was good, this was probably around 20,000 to 25,000 miles.

    Alternate Gauge installation

Unless something changed with the 2012 model, you have to disconnect both for them to show up on the display. Disconnecting one of them will not work.

Gas Mileage for the first 1500 miles

MMcc, Funny you mention the TB work at Cowtown and mileage going up. I too had my TB replaced and I assume a firmware update while there (2010 RT-S) and my mileage went up at least 2 mpg. I had my shocks replace with Elkas, but doubt that is the reason. Typically raising the front end of a...

    Flipped RS

In the bottom picture you can see the left tire is flat and may have been caused be the bike going sharp sideways and breaking the bead on the tire.

    Burning oil?

Same difference, I just like to shut it off and restart and run for 30 seconds, also don't want to fume up the garage while I get my stuff together and remove the panel. Now when I have ridden long and hard I like to let it sit for a few so any bubbles will calm down before I do the check. I...

    Burning oil?

Only good way to check the oil is to ride it to get to temperature. Personally if I came off a long ride, I will let it sit for a few minutes then start it let it run for 30 seconds and then quickly check the oil level. If doing it after it has been sitting for awhile I will ride it till I get...

    Burning oil?

When getting up to operating temperature, did you ride it around or did you just let it idle up to temperature? It really needs to be ridden to get to "operating temperature", idling is not the best way to do it.
