• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Gas Mileage for the first 1500 miles

Gas Mileage for the first 2683 miles

So where am I fitting in compared to everyone else? I use FUELLY to record my mileage.

SPECIAL NOTE: Some of my fill-ups may have not been complete fill ups. The process of filling up your tank on a RT-S Spyder is tricky. You tilt the nozzle in one direction and it stops the fill-up. You adjust the nozzle and it works fines. This program assumes each fill-up is a complete fill-up.

Posted for comparison purposes.

2011 RTs

After elka's and TB work at Cowtown MPG climbed. Now averaging 33.4 for 1500 miles. Before that it was 29.7 MPG for first 3000 miles.

My last 2 tank loads I didn't get a gas light until 175 miles. With one bar still remaining. It took 5 gallons.

My current tank i have 105 miles on it and still have 5 bars..... I'm not sure what to attribute this too as i am not driving like a grandpa..:roflblack: I did just have the TB update...not sure of the effect there.

I used to get the gas light at 120 miles..so..:dontknow:

MMcc,
Funny you mention the TB work at Cowtown and mileage going up. I too had my TB replaced and I assume a firmware update while there (2010 RT-S) and my mileage went up at least 2 mpg. I had my shocks replace with Elkas, but doubt that is the reason. Typically raising the front end of a vehicle doesn't improve fuel mileage, an aerodynamics thing. I think the Spyder is running better over all, but there are some quirky things happening that I can live with for now, especially with the improved fuel mileage.
I would be interested to hear if others have experienced the some thing.

Gas mileage

Maybe Murphy Brown can chime in, I think I remember her posting a mileage increase after some work at Spyderfest. She said she had Spyderpop's bash plate installed, not sure what else. Perhaps Len at Cowtown has some secret formula /code for the RT's that improve the mileage.

I have a 2012 RT A&C SM5
Been getting 32 - 35 MPG with the last 6-7 fill ups :yes::clap::clap:
The last 2 fill ups were 35 MPG :clap::clap::clap:
Love my Spyder

It's gotta be the right wrist? Right...?

I get about average of 25 if I keep it at around 70.....but any above and I go down to 20-22 mpg real quick.

:spyder2: depending on how I chose to drive, weather conditions & other variables, somewhere between 28 - 33.

I'm still breaking in my new RTS-SE5 with about 275 miles on the odameter. I'm using 91-93 octane fuel at fill ups. My average is 27.5 mpg and thats keeping the rpms below 6,000 revolutions. I sure do hope my mileage increases to at least 30 mpg someday.
