• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    met a spyderlover - live = live

Hi Gang! Hi everybody. Gail and I were in Europe doing the "High Alps Tour" with Edelweiss Bike Travels. It was an awesome experience. We were two-up on a BMW R1200RT and had the chance to see some incredible Alpine vistas from the seat of the bike. Fun, and kind of scary at times for a...

    Speed kills? Wind just hurts!

Jane, I was very sorry to read about your injury. As you say, it really sucks that this happened to you right at the beginning of riding season. I hope you can get out on your Spyder soon, and before too long, on your new Ducati as well! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Bruce

    Statefarm Insurance

I have been with State Farm for many years. When I bought my Spyder, it was one of the first to be insured by State Farm here in Ontario. They classified it as a motorcycle, and the rates I paid were the same extremely high rate (other insurance companies are even worse) that I am accustomed to...

    This winter stinks so far

I agree with your wife. Winter is to be endured, not enjoyed. I am counting the days and hours until the last hideous flake of snow melts! :( Bruce

    What a wonderful surprise!

Hi Deb! The Guzzi has been an awesome ride so far. I have about 12,000 km. on it now, and it has been a blast. I am going stir crazy right now with all the snow we have gotten. :gaah: I am champing at the bit in anticipation of spring! Hope all is well with you. Does Brian still have his Spyder...

    What a wonderful surprise!

Murph is a great guy and as honest as the day is long. I dealt with him on numerous occasions when I owned my Kawasaki Concours. :2thumbs: Cheers, Bruce

R.I.P. Spyder 2683 up in flames

And looking at the photos, it sure appears the point of origin was the right side. The burn pattern extends from the right and the damage is worse on the right side than on the left. I'm glad you are physically okay anyway, Leo. Best regards, Bruce

For those that sold their Spyder

Hey Brian, my '99 Concours was as reliable as a stone axe! They are a great bike. The guy I sold it to at work is still happily riding it all over the continent. Just to respond to the question asked in this thread, my Spyder replacement is shown in the pic below my signature block...

    Drunk cop!

He is no better than - and is actually worse, since he was wearing the uniform that stands for serving and protecting the public - any other criminal. Hopefully he will end up behind bars where he belongs. Bruce

Helmet review: Can-Am ST 1 Hybrid vs Nolan Trilogy N43

I have a Nolan Trilogy and just installed the Scala Rider Q2 bluetooth communication system. The boom mic fits quite nicely with the chin bar in place and places the speaker just in front of my mouth, so it works like a charm for me. Bruce

Fatal Spyder Collision in Quebec yesterday

A very sad story indeed, yet another example of a vulnerable road user paying the price for the stupidity and inattention of someone else. Remember that as safe and stable as the Spyder is, all brothers and sisters who ride on two or three wheels are very vulnerable and lives can be changed or...
