There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. This winter stinks so far

All the snow and ice finally melted late last week... only to be followed by a lot of flooding. I feel for a lot of fellow residents... But I will ryde in the rain and do.

I do stay away from some areas though. Because they still use harmful chemicals for the ice, but not Seattle... They keep using sand  I just wait a few days for the rain to wash it all away and ryde...

Now if I lived just another 20 minutes to the East... I would still be snowed in or blocked by mud/snow slides... :yikes:

Glad you made it back safe. 7 degrees

Well, I rode to work last night, probably not the smartest choice I have ever made. It was lightly snowing but it didn't look like it would be too bad. I was wrong. I should have turned around and went back and got the car but I thought it might get better. I slowly and carefully made it to the highway where I went about 45-50 mph. Just didn't think it would be safe any faster. Got to work and prayed it wouldn't snow all night. When I got out this morning, there was a light dusting of snow. The highway was pretty clear but again the side roads were just not spyder friendly. I basically rode far to the right so that my rear wheel was in the clear tire track of the car traffic. That did help some of the slipping that happened occasionally. Of course, to just add icing to the ice, my brake failure light came on as soon as I left work and stayed on the whole way home. I tried stopping and taking the key out and restarting, did it a couple of times, but no help. After I get some sleep, I will go out and check my brake fluid. Really don't want to ride to the dealer.

By the way, did I mention it was 7 degrees this morning for the ride home. LOL

I don't know how tatt2r does it with the Spyder as his only vehicle. It's snowing again here. This winter has been relentless.

I'm a fair weather ryder if there ever was one. But at some point before spring I want to get on my Spyder and ryde it up to the dealer to get the DPS and some other work done on it. I do not want to waste a good part of the real good weather waiting for my DPS and mods to be done!!

This is depressing. And of course, I still having come out of the funk caused by the Patriots getting their butt kicked by the Jets. Of all the teams to lose to. It was embarrassing. I can barely stand to think of it.

Oh well. I will give my Spyder a pat "hello" when I go out to the workshop and start up my truck to plow. I must say that I am getting a lot of practice plowing this year. I am getting really good at it. There is some satisfaction in pushing the snow around. Got to get your jollies somehow!!!

I feel your pain. Last year, I rode a few times a month, all through the winter. This year, I think it's been above 35 only twice since I got back to Ohio on Thanksgiving. Like you, my street never sees city services and has been snow/ice covered almost the entire time.

i hear ya, I will say the snow tire is good and with 2 100 lb sandbags on the back it is borderline great.

its -28 right now here and I do need a new fog city insert for my helmet. 5 miles is about the limit of how fun it is to ride home.

OK Seth...I'm curious. On your map how did you color in Nevada and Colorado and all the states around it are not? Did you parachute the :spyder: in?

Good luck!

Last time I was out was in December and the salt cleanup was so much work after I got back I have not wanted to ride again....

Winter is depressing enough--- add not being able to ride spyder on top of that--- ugggg!

My area has too much salt...even when it threatens to snow/sleet/rain, they're throwing salt out...great for the environment, eh?

My governor declared a state of emergency two weeks ago before we even got any snow...and guess what, we got nothing! All those big storms from last year are missing us so far this year!

Darn salt really great for paint...argh!

Well Deb I got to go for a ride yesterday---I was out for about an hour----and Ms Virginia took my picture. Today its 10 degrees and windy---I was told I have to stay in.
This is Missouri and this is not normal.
Usually this time of the year the salesman from Monsanto comes by and gives us ball caps.
Have a good day "A"

I thought 23 degrees was cold. That makes 23 degrees seem like a heat wave. Glad you made it home okay and hope there's nothing seriously wrong with your Spyder.

You are a Road Warrior, Deb! Good on ya!

Glad you were able to get your Spyder fix...hope it holds you for a while until the roads are safer. :congrats: You and tatt2r are our "roll models".

I only put the states I rode my spyder in and I trailered my spyder out to the salt flats I think you meant utah and nevada. I took the spyder out there and road all over before I raced.

There was too much crap to bring to not trailer when i raced on the salt flats. 111.8 was the best I did, it was bull**** for speed, I need to adjust the timing and have way more snot.

It is a good time and everyone should go out there one year and watch all the crazy ****.

I started mine up yesterday and turned it around in the garage. I would have gone down the street but I'm on a private one and we don't pay for salt. I can't believe that Deb rode to work at night. 7 degrees is too cold to even go out to get the mail.

Go Bears!

I am just happy to hear that you made it back home safely after braving the weather like that Deb. You make me feel like a wimp because I did not want to ryde when it was 16 degrees here. :(

Don't feel like a wimp. Really cold is really cold no matter what. It would have been a lot more enjoyable ride if there hadn't been snow and ice on the roads, that is for sure. With the right gear, you can stay pretty comfortable, not really any different than people that gear up to go out on their snowmobiles or to go skiing. I am glad I got home safe and got my spyder fix too. As today it was a low of 4 degree this morning and it is now about 12 degrees and has been snowing all morning. No spydering today even if I wanted to try.

I should have left you in jail were it's nice and warm and you can't go out and do crazy stuff like that!

What did you find out about your breaks?

You are too kind. :) You are right about having the right kind of gear though, and it usually isn't nearly as cold down here as it has been this winter, and I don't have the right stuff. I have thought about one of those thermal suits, but am afraid it would just sit in the closet 90% of the year. :dontknow:

Last ride New Years day then Biggest snow storm in CT history, ice and this weekend will be 5-8 below zero with highs of 12 degrees!

Besides that my Netzero won,t find Spyder Lovers but will find every other site in the world. NetZero is working on it? I hope ? because I have to go to the library to read this group. At least its WARM!!!
